In this PUBG Mobile update, the brand-new theme mode is called Ocean Odyssey. We will get special powers such as underwater breathing ability, fist-fights, faster swimming speed, etc. Upon first entering the palace, you will receive a respawn card automatically. After defeating all the opponents in Atlantis, we will get a special powerful trident.
Using that weapon, we will be able to create water sprouts, which can pull and throw opponents in any direction. This trident will also provide an extra recall card for the owner and their teammates. A giant mythical sea monster named the ‘Kraken‘ will also be present in this mode, This theme mode can be played in the Erangel and Livik maps.
After retrieving the trident, the Kraken will get enraged and it will destroy the whole underwater palace. So make sure you leave the palace safely before the Kraken gets you. This is the first time in PUBG Mobile history, that a total theme mode is based underwater. Previously, we have seen theme mode in the sky and on the land.
In the underwater palace, the sea suppressor feature sustains an air pocket. You can walk around and fight within the air pocket just like on land. But, once you cross its boundary, you will be swimming underwater. To reach the ocean palace as quickly as possible, land directly on the ocean surface at the time of parachuting. You will quickly submerge upon entering the water, due to the special faster swim speed. This ocean palace is sure to become a player hotspot rife with competition, so watch out for your opponents.
PUBG Mobile Ocean Odyssey mode: Complete list of features
In this game mode, many cool and interesting features can give the players an upper hand in the battleground. In this section, we will discuss the new features and additions of the Mecha fusion theme mode.
1. Forsaken Ruins
Besides the underwater ocean palace, there is another mysterious area on land, the Forsaken Ruins. It also holds loads of supplies and loot, so players can also consider it as a landing location. Be sure to search for the switches in the Forsaken Ruins to open the passage to the Sea Treasury. This is an underwater domain, you will have to pass through an underwater cave to reach the entrance of the treasury.
2. Water Prism
There are many water prisms scattered around the map. Approach them to open the barriers and obtain the loot inside. These water prisms are mostly situated in big cities like Pochinki, Yasnaya Polyana, etc.
3. Celestial Sea Treasure
In this Ocean Odyssey mode, some airdrops have turned into a celestial sea treasure, delivered by a water column from the sky. You will get better supplies from these crates. Other players will also hunt these special airdrops, so the competition for these treasures will be very high.
4. Gleaming Stingray
We will see a brand-new vehicle in this mode, which is the Gleaming Stingray. We can use the Stingray Core to summon this new vehicle. This is an amphibious vehicle, it can even fly at a low altitude. Additionally, it can launch bubbles that can trap enemies inside. Do not forget to try this.
5. Water Orb Grenade
This new utility item is similar to the dancing groove grenade from the Skyhigh Spectacle mode. When thrown, it will form a huge water orb at the location of impact., engulfing players caught in the explosion. We must swim to the edge of the water orb to escape. Enemies inside the water orb have reduced speed while you and your teammates can dash inside the water orb to get an advantage.
6. Water Orb Blaster
It is a theme mode exclusive weapon just like the magnet gun of the Mechafusion mode. Use it to shoot a water orb that lasts a while. You can also quickly pull yourself into the orb, and quickly transfer to other water orbs or perform a second dash.
7. Whale Escape Pod
Finally, we have a new relocation item after the emergency pickup feature. This new item is the first of its kind. The whale escape pod can transfer an entire team to the play zone. You can also change its route or get off midway. It is a great item to get a tactical upper hand in the battlegrounds.
8. PUBG Mobile Ocean Odyssey – Airdrop Carnival
A new feature is coming to the Ocean Odyssey mode in August, which is the Airdrop Carnival. The theme of this carnival is a pirate bash. Many islands will appear on the sea, and upon landing on the island, the mini-map turns into a pirate treasure map. for helping you find treasure. When you reach a treasure spot, dig it up for a chance to get a special black-and-white Pirate Air Drop Crate.
9. Intel rooms
A new type of supply location has arrived in the game. It is the Intel Rooms. Once you get a secret key, you can open an intel room to get loads of supplies. This room can complete an entire squad’s full loot.

After a disappointing theme mode like the Mechafusion, which was nothing short of a disastrous theme mode, and getting massive backlashes from the players and viewers, it seems PUBG Mobile has finally learned its lessons. The new Ocean Odyssey mode has come with lots of expectations and potential. The developers are also working actively for the audience interaction and betterment of the game.
They will have to make sure that these additions do not take away the core gameplay of the battle royale mode. Now it is up to the players how they take this new game mode but it is obvious that this will surely boost the growth of PUBG Mobile attracting both the new and old playerbase.
