Tower of Fantasy Gnonno Guide: Best matrices, team comps and levelling materials

Tips to play Gnonno in Tower of Fantasy!

Tower of Fantasy has a new patch update, Version 2.5 where they introduce another new limited Simulacrum name Gnonno along with her weapon Mini Hurricane. Gnonno is a character that is revealed to be a Physical DPS Simulacrum. In this guide, we will learn more about the abilities of Gnonno, her best matrices, team compositions, and the materials required to level her up in Tower of Fantasy.

Tower of Fantasy Gnonno Guide: Character Information

Gnonno takes immense pride in her esteemed grandfather, Nuok, a revered member of the pioneering expedition that unveiled the uncharted realm of Innars. Inspired by his remarkable exploits, Gnonno aspires to emulate his footsteps and become a distinguished explorer herself. However, her current trajectory portrays a rather troublesome disposition, to put it mildly.

The eccentricities surrounding Gnonno’s newfound capabilities have left the denizens of Innars perplexed. As a precautionary measure, they unanimously caution their progeny to maintain an absolute distance from Gnonno, viewing her with a mixture of trepidation and mistrust.

Best Matrices Build for Gnonno in Tower of Fantasy

Gnonno’s matrices offer decent elemental damage buffs with minimal conditions, with all the effects working in the background. Although the endurance consumption reduction is a nice little buff on her, in most cases it is not necessary. In a typical rotation, you can go at least 2 minutes or more of nonstop combat without running out of Endurance. Even when Gnonno does out, she doesn’t even lose that much damage.

Gnonno’s matrix is powerful but keeps in mind that it stacks additively with Lyra’s matrix. The alternative option in a Meta team would be Umi’s matrix, but that stacks addictively with Fiona’s matrix. When you compare the matrices side by side, the alternatives are very close to each other in terms of providing the best buffs.

Because of how Physical teams fixate on camping on one Simulacrum with Maelstrom for a long duration, on-field matrices are very important. Essentially if you don’t have Lyra matrices, the classic Samir/Shiro combo matrices are a powerful alternative too.

Gnonno Matrix (SSR)

  • 2-piece set: Increase all elemental damage by 8% / 9% / 10% / 11% when at least 1 physical weapon is equipped. This set effect works in the off-hand slot, only the set with the highest star rating will take effect.
  • 4-piece set: After using any physical weapon skill or discharge skill, increase all elemental damage by 13% / 16% / 19% / 22% for 25 seconds. The endurance consumed when using Mini Hurricane is reduced by 40%. This set effect works in the off-hand slot, only the set with the highest star rating will take effect.

Umi Matrix (SSR)

  • 2-piece set: When dealing physical damage, increase final damage by 4% / 5% / 6% / 7% and physical damage by 2% / 2.5% / 3% / 3.5% for 3 seconds. This Matrix’s effect is also active in the off-hand slot, but only the set with the highest star rating will take effect.
  • 4-piece set: When equipping 2 or more physical weapons, increase final damage by 15% / 17% / 19% / 21%. This Matrix’s effect is also active in the off-hand slot, but only the set with the highest star rating will take effect.

Fiona Matrix (SSR)

  • 2-piece set: After dealing damage, increase ATK by 16% / 18% / 20% / 22% for 30 seconds. This effect does not stack. Only the effect with the highest star rating is applied when obtained repeatedly.
  • 4-piece set: While Benediction Resonance is not active, after using Scatter Technique, increase final damage by 17% / 19% / 21% / 23% for 20 seconds. While Benediction Resonance is active, after using Scatter Technique, increase final damage for self and teammates by 8.5% / 9.5% / 10.5% / 11.5% for 20 seconds. Final damage is additionally increased based on a base attack by (Base ATK/10,000)%, up to 5%. This Matrix’s effect is also active in the off-hand slot, but only the set with the highest star rating will take effect.

Lyra Matrix (SSR)

  • 2-piece set: Use this weapon to increase all attack types by 13% / 17% / 21% / 25%. The lower the HP, the higher the healing received, which can be increased by up to 100%.
  • 4-piece set: Upon reaching the maximum stacks, increase physical damage by an additional 3.5% / 7% / 10.5% / 14% for 5 seconds. Only the highest star rating’s effect is applied when obtained repeatedly. Obtain 1 block for each dodge, blocking damage up to 60% of current HP, but not less than 20% of Max HP. Stack up to 3 blocks for 10 seconds.

Shiro Matrix (SSR)

  • 2-piece set:  Increase both damages and shatter to targets with more than 50% HP by 15%/19%/22.5%/26%

Samir Matrix (SSR)

  • 2-piece set: Increase damage progressively by 1% upon hitting a target. Stack up to 10/13/16/20 times. Lasts 1.5 seconds.

Best Team Comps for Gnonno in Tower of Fantasy

Gnonno is fairly versatile and can almost be seen as a Physical Lan in terms of the amount of off-field damage she provides. As such, she can fit into a good amount of team comps.

Gnonno + Fiona + Umi

The first team is a standard Physical team consisting of Gnonno, Umi, and Fiona. Umi can be replaced by either using Claudia or Lyra. For Fiona, Lin can also act as an alternative. In this team, use Hydro Focus and Maelstrom here, with Gnonno being the main DPS. A triple Physical comp just does not work as the rotation is extremely squishy and tough due to how both skills instantly gain charge.

Fiona’s skill can be cast without gaining a new Discharge, as such you won’t be able to properly rotate to both Umi and Claudia without running both Discharge meters generated by Gnonno. To start the team comp, use Fiona’s base skill first, quickly swapping to Umi right after and starting a Magic Show. Discharge in Gnonno and pop Moelstrom using her skill and then hold Attack. A few seconds later, Discharge Fiona and repeat the rotation.

Fiona + Gnonno + Lyra

This second team comp is called can Altered Gnonno team. The strength of this team is that it double dips on both Gnonno’s special Universal Resonance and Altered Resonance. In this comp, we use Hydro Focus and Torrential Force. This team plays mostly similar to the standard Physical team, except you will alternate between Discharging Lin and Gnonno.

Use Maelstrom instead of Torrential Force, using a rotation similar to the standard Umi comp. Start with Fiona’s skill then swap to Lin and drop Moonlight Realm and use Torrential Force. Swap to Gnonno and use her Skill and DPS until hitting two full charge bars at which point you Discharge into Fiona, use her Skill, and then Discharge to Lin to use hers.
