Ever since UFL Football Game 2026 has been available globally, there have been plenty of questions regarding its controls. To start things off, I would say the controls in UFL 2026 are quite simple, if you ask me. The game uses a movable joystick on the left side for movement, while all action buttons are placed on the right side of the screen.
Currently, the control layout cannot be fully customized, so you will mainly be using the default setup throughout your matches. One important thing to notice is that several buttons contain directional swipe mechanics, meaning they perform additional actions depending on the swipe direction.
The controls may feel basic initially, but once you understand the advanced swipe actions, gameplay becomes much smoother both in attack and defense. So in this UFL Football Game 2026 Controls Guide, I’ll explain all the attacking and defending controls and how they work. If you are getting started, read our redeem codes and Beginners Guide to get things going, while the team building guide is here to help you build your squad.
Attacking Controls in UFL 2026 Mobile
During attacking gameplay, you mainly use Shoot, Pass, Through Pass, Dash, and movement controls. The buttons with directional arrows allow multiple actions depending on the swipe direction.
| Button | Function |
|---|---|
| Shoot | Performs shots on goal |
| Pass | Performs ground passes |
| T-Pass | Sends players through on goal |
| Dash | Sprint and speed boost movement |
As for the extra functions, Shoot, Pass, and T-Pass all come with different functions.
The Shoot button is your primary finishing mechanic. A simple tap performs a normal shot, but swiping changes the shot type completely. Special actions are as follows:
- Swipe Up: Performs a chip shot, useful when the goalkeeper rushes forward.
- Swipe Left: Performs a low shot that stays close to the ground.
- Swipe Down: Performs a finesse shot for curled finishes into corners.
- Swipe Right: Performs a flair shot with stylish finishing animations.

The Pass button works like the Shoot button, but for passes. Passing mechanics in UFL 2026 are quite flexible because the Pass button supports multiple actions through swipes.
- Swipe Up: Performs a lob pass for switching play or crossing over defenders.
- Swipe Left: Performs a driven pass with extra power and speed.
- Swipe Down: Activates Pass and Go, where the passer immediately makes a forward run.
The Through Pass button is mainly used for creating attacking runs behind defensive lines. Swiping up will give you a lofted through pass, while pressing it will result in a grounded through ball.
The Dash button increases sprint speed. However, if you notice, you also have arrows, so swipe mechanics work here, where players perform four skill moves in different directions. But I left it out because there is no proper integration of skill moves here.
Defending Controls in UFL 2026 Mobile
Defending in UFL 2026 mainly revolves around positioning, pressing, and timed tackling. Unlike attacking buttons, the defensive controls currently do not feature directional swipe mechanics.
| Button | Function |
|---|---|
| Switch | Changes Controlled Player |
| Dash and Tackle | Presses and Performs Standing Tackle |
| Slide | Sliding Tackle |
The Switch button allows you to change the footballer you are controlling. Manual switching is what I’ve observed has to be done. The Slide button is pretty straightforward as well. Just make sure you are at the right angle to cut the opponent, you will foul them.

Holding the Dash and Tackle button applies pressure to attackers while chasing them down. When close enough, the player attempts a standing tackle automatically. Keeping the button pressed also works, while I follow quick taps to avoid overpressing.
