A new Sony patent indicates that the company is working to improve mobile game controls

The tech behomoth is finding way to enter the mobile sector

Sony is reportedly working its way into the mobile gaming market as the Japanese multinational conglomerate corporation is working to improve game controls for which they have devised a new patent. This patent describes a few methods and systems that will be used to improve controller input accuracy in future mobile games.

The new Sony patent is yet another attempt to establish its place in the mobile games market

When we remember Sony’s attempts to build its name on the mobile gaming platform, Sony’s PlayStation Mobile program comes to mind. This was aimed to create a store for indie games and PlayStation classics that could be played on both the PS Vita handheld and select Android phones.

Remember the HTC One and Xperia models? Yeah, we don’t either. That’s how bad they were. The program ended prematurely, and Sony would like to erase the unsuccessful PlayStation Mobile endeavor from its history. Following their previous failures, the patent proposal will be yet another attempt from them.

The patent focuses on providing tech which allows smoother control over games

The developed patent proposal is to address gaming controls in mobile games. Explaining the technology, the patent will concentrate on processing procedures for mobile device games, such as receiving mobile controller input and then determining a correction value to conduct the action with high precision.

This tech is supposed to make mobile controls run considerably more smoothly than they did previously. Other sections of the patent discuss dynamic streaming gaming on mobile devices as well as more intelligent ways to handle game state storing. Overall, it definitely looks like a good tech system indeed.

Overall, this is wonderful news for mobile gaming gamers because it broadens the playing field even further. Sony’s recent acquisition of Savage Game Studios to start the new PlayStation Studios Mobile Division indicates its effort to be a staple of the mobile gaming industry.
