Level Infinite and TourDog Studio have announced that they will shutdown the service of their fantasy strategy RPG, Alchemy Stars, in China on January 24, 2025. The game was launched in China on June 13, 2023, but it is already set to shut down. The global version, which was launched on June 19, 2021, is still running.

Alchemy Stars is set to shutdown after the release of its final main story update

Launched in 2021, Alchemy Stars is a groundbreaking fantasy strategy RPG where you can journey through Astra, an immersive world filled with magic and technology. In this world, the Aurorians and Caelestites have co-existed since the beginning of time, until the invasion of the Eclipsites. You play as the last surviving Caelestite, rescued by an Aurorian, and partake in turn-based combat, command the Colossus, and team up with Aurorians to fight against these dark creatures.

However, the Alchemy Stars team has announced on Weibo that they will officially cease operations in Mainland China on January 24, 2025. This news doesn’t come as a surprise, as yesterday’s data mining revealed that new registrations and recharge functions would soon be unavailable.

The suspension process has already begun, as the game recharge functions have been closed. Additionally, the game will suspend its service for two hours, during which the new game registrations will be disabled. Once the service resumes, you can log in normally if you are an existing player. And finally, the game will officially shut down all operations on January 24, 2025.

You will still be playing Alchemy Stars post-shutdown via an offline version

Good news for you, though: The devs have promised to launch a special offline version of the game that can be downloaded through the app store or directly updated on the existing game client. Moreover, the light spirit and costume will be retained along with a few other basic services. This version is expected to launch before the game’s termination.

And that’s not all, as you will also receive a special main storyline update, 1,000 Summon Stars, and designated 6-star Light Spirits. You can collect the rewards via the in-game mailbox. Do note that you can still play the game until the termination date.

There will also be a compensation activity where you can receive gift packs for games like Honor of Kings, Peace Elite, Naruto Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile, and Light and Night Love if you have done in-game transactions and have tokens in your game. You can get more information about this in the official announcement.
