Complete list of upcoming open-world RPGs like Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves
The future is bright for open-world RPGs, which Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves paved the way for. Honor of Kings is such a huge IP, and even they’re jumping in with their highly anticipated open-world action RPG, Honor of Kings: World, releasing this Spring in China.
Here’s the list of the upcoming open-world RPGs, and it will be updated as new games come in, so stay tuned!
1. Honor of Kings: World
First, we have Honor of Kings: World, a highly anticipated open-world action RPG from Level Infinite that beautifully expands the beloved universe of Honor of Kings. Now, this spin-off lets you explore vast regions like the Dreamweave Plains while teaming up with familiar heroes and even using their signature abilities in fast-paced combat.
I personally like the freedom the game offers. I mean, you can take on powerful bosses like the Crimson Beast, summon legendary creatures like the Azure Beast, or even unwind by building a home for a peaceful life. And you can soon experience it as the game is releasing this Spring in China.
2. Aniimo
Next up is Aniimo, a creature-catching ARPG from Pawprint Studio and Kingsglory that takes you into the stunning world of Idyll. Here, you can freely explore, collect adorable creatures like Fentuft, Momand, and Cubbo, and even transform into them using the Twinning mechanic during battles and exploration.
I also love the Homeland feature, which lets you build and upgrade your own base while your Aniimo helps you gather resources and interact with the world. With fun modes like Egg Heist and more, the game looks really promising. The good news is that the game is launching on multiple platforms this year.
3. Roco Kingdom: World
Now we’ve Roco Kingdom: World, a large-scale pet collection MMORPG from MoreFun Studios, a subsidiary of Tencent Games. Set in a lively, open world, you join as a freshman in the universe, where you can catch, train, and bond with over 400 adorable creatures called Rocos while exploring.
Plus, you can play solo at your own pace or team up with others for a better social experience. As a follow-up to the original browser title, the game is very enjoyable with polished systems, and there is no gacha system. Chinese players can enjoy the game via the App Store.
4. FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time
Next on the list is FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time, a slow life social RPG from Level-5 that is arriving this Summer on mobile. The story follows your adventure on the island of Reveria, where you explore with archaeologist Edward and his crew to uncover the mystery of the island.
The game offers 14 different Lives (Jobs), which let you switch between gathering, crafting, combat, and more, whenever you want. During exploration, you can climb, swim, ride mounts, and even reshape your land by creating rivers and roads. If you’re interested, you can check the Official Website for more details.
5. NTE: Neverness to Everness
Now, NTE: Neverness to Everness is a supernatural open-world RPG from Hotta Studios, and I’m really excited for this one as it’s launching on April 29, 2026. Set in the vibrant city of Hethereau, you join as an unlicensed Anomaly Hunter, taking on strange supernatural jobs.
As you explore the bustling cities and campus area, you’ll gradually uncover the mysteries hidden beneath the city’s surface. That aside, you can team up with companions and make use of their unique abilities during missions and battles. Overall, I found the game really promising with GTA-like vibes, and you can now pre-register via the Google Play Store or App Store for the upcoming launch.
6. Azur Promilia
Next, we have Azur Promilia, a fantasy RPG from Manjuu Games, that blends exploration, creature companions, and anime-style Genshin-like gameplay. Set in a vibrant world filled with adorable creatures like Staray, you can collect, bond with, and even ride on them while exploring diverse regions like Jinghua Cape and more.
Here, you can unlock diverse characters like Terara, Han Youyou, and more to battle bosses like Shadowblaze and Spitehorn. With its lovely fantasy pet companion setting and female-only cast similar to Azur Lane, you should definitely check it out and pre-register via the official website.
7. Prism 2033
So, Prism 2033 is a next-gen parallel universe MMORPG from CyberNest Entertainment that is built on Unreal Engine 5. Set in the futuristic Flux City, a central hub that connects multiple worlds, you join as an Investigator. You can gradually shape your own journey across the worlds, each with its own settings, conflicts, and more.
Here, you can also team up with friends to explore dangerous regions, engage in large-scale fleet battles, and even build bonds with the AI-driven NPCs in the world. Besides the AI usage for better NPC interaction, the game looks promising, and you can even pre-register via the official website.
8. ANANTA
ANANTA, an urban open-world RPG from NetEase Games and Naked Rain, is one of the titles I’m quite eager to try out. Set in the vibrant city of Nova, you play as an Esper, and you can team up with adorable characters to uncover mysteries and protect the city from a rising threat.
Here too, you get absolute freedom, as you can parkour across rooftops, swing through the city, jump into vehicles, and even utilize the environment during combat, making every encounter very dynamic. So, with lifelike NPCs, interactive moments, and the ability to pick diverse roles, this is a must-try, so make sure to pre-register for it via the official website.
9. Sea of Remnants
Lastly, we have Sea of Remnants, an oceanic adventure RPG from NetEase Games that is developed by Joker Studios. Set in a stunning, detailed world, you play as an amnesiac puppet sailor, drifting across strange islands and dangerous sea routes in search of your lost memories with a mysterious girl. I like how our choices come with consequences here.
Along the journey, you’ll meet over 300 quirky characters and form bonds with them. You can then build your team, upgrade your ship, and explore hidden ruins or engage in fast-paced naval battles against fleets and sea monsters. Besides this, you can also enjoy fishing, cooking hotpot, or playing traditional mahjong. If you’re interested, do pre-register via the official website as it is coming this year.
*Note – Some of these games have limited or regional releases, are not globally available, or are currently in development.
So, that’s all for now. And don’t worry, as I’ll be updating this list as more such games arrive. The future is bright for mobile gaming as big studios are stepping up with very promising titles. I hope we get to see more titles in the near future!
