George Orwell’s famous 75-year old allegorical novella Animal Farm is finally upcoming in the form of a mobile game in the fall of 2020. This will come as an adventure game from the popular indie devs known as The Dairymen and Nerial. You could recall them most likely as the creators of the highly proclaimed Reigns series.
About Animal Farm
The upcoming video game adaptation of Orwell’s allegorical novella Animal Farm is going to take a while to convert to an adventure title that players will have to make important key choices throughout the game’s story. Most of these decisions will relate to which animals they decide to follow and the ones that they wish to neglect.
Player choices will have major effects on farm activities
The choices you make in the game are going to have a major effect on the events that happen on the farm. But conversely, there is going to be more to the game than influencing the branches of the game’s narrative. This is because players will be required to defend the farm, balance off resources, and ensure that its animal populace remains intact and content.
Abubakar Salim will be narrating the game. You might recall him as Bayek in Assassin’s Creed: Origins. It’s also going to sport a painterly graphical style that is inspired by the 1930s. You can check out the game trailer below.
Developers promise an authentic experience
While discussing the upcoming game, Tamara Alliot, founder of Nerial stated that they found it an great opportunity to honour Orwell’s novella.
When we got the opportunity to work with Imre, Andy and the estate of George Orwell to bring Animal Farm to a gaming audience we grabbed it with both hands and set out to make a game that truly honors Orwell’s parable.

They also added that they could bring their genre experience to the project thanks to Reigns. And writer Emily Short was excited to adapt the text and use her narrative design prowess. The author also has painstakingly studied Orwell’s text to ensure authenticity and verisimilitude.
When will Animal Farm release?
