- CD Projekt Red has confirmed a partnership with Scopely to develop a new game based on its own IP.
- Though details remain undisclosed, speculation grows on if it will be Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher, or a different title.
CD Projekt Red, the studio behind The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077, has confirmed a partnership with Scopely for a new title based on its IP. The announcement was made during CD Projekt’s recent FY 2024 earnings call.
The details of the CD Projekt Red x Scopely partnership remain under wraps
However, no details were provided regarding which franchise will be adapted or what kind of game we can expect. During the earnings call, Barclays analyst Nick Dempsey asked whether CD Projekt would receive an upfront licensing fee from Scopely or if profits would be shared later.

However, CD Projekt’s Joint CEO Michal Nowakowski declined to share any further than the announcement. “Unfortunately, the answer to that is probably not going to be satisfactory. We have no further information to be added on that subject on this call.“
Scopely, best known for MONOPOLY GO!, has been making some big moves in the gaming industry. The company recently acquired Pokémon GO developer Niantic in a $3.5 billion deal. While Scopely has primarily focused on mobile titles, expanding into the PC and console markets could be an option, too.
I’m curious about what this new game could be. I remember Michal Nowakowski mentioning that Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher might come to mobile during last year’s earnings call. So, will it be one of these titles or something completely different? The wait begins.
