The new Cookie Run: Kingdom 27 May 2022 update is out now, and players will find lots of major changes in the game such as a new Epic Cookie (Crunchy Chip Cookie is now available from the gacha, while previously the cookie was only seen as a non-playable character in the Cookie Odyssey storyline), a new Level 70 cap for cookies (this means Level 60 is no longer the maximum level for a cookie), and the return of the long-awaited Super Mayhem game mode.
Cookie Run: Kingdom 27 May Update 2022
New Cookie: Crunchy Chip Cookie (Epic)
Crunchy Chip Cookie is the newest Epic cookie, and he’s the leader of the squad that protects the Dark Cacao Kingdom. While he may have a bit of a temper, Crunchy Chip is still one of the finest and most reliable soldiers. He is a Charge class, which means he’s positioned at the front part of the team.
This cookie is another summoner cookie (examples of summoners in the game include Pumpkin Pie Cookie, Licorice Cookie, and Cotton Cookie) so it means he can be buffed by the Seamstress’s Pincushion treasure, which boosts a summoned creature’s duration and attack. However, unlike other summoner cookies (which are all either Magic or Support class), he’s in the Charge class so he’ll have a significantly higher defense and health stat, ensuring a better survival rate.
The best way of obtaining him is from his own featured banner, which lasts for 41 days. There’s a 1.44% chance of getting him from his banner and an 8.2% chance of getting his soulstones. Try to get him at least once, and if you have a lot of saved-up crystals, you can go ahead and try for multiple copies. Having a lot of copies would allow you to promote him, and having him promoted higher gives you more rewards for his promotion event.
New Feature: Hall of Ancient Heroes
This Cookie Run Kingdom 27 May Update 2022 introduces the Hall of Ancient Heroes, which is a temple that helps boost the stats of your cookies.
The hall showcases 5 of your highest leveled cookies, with the lowest of the 5 being your Paragon Cookie. This means if your highest dropped cookies at the moment are Level 70, Level 66, Level 65, Level 64, and Level 63, the Level 63 cookie would be the Paragon Cookie.
Empty slots can also be seen in the Hall. Putting a cookie in one of the slots will help them receive the same level as the Paragon Cookie. In the example above, you can give the base stats of a Level 63 cookie to any other underdeveloped cookie you own. This feature is useful for boosting your lower leveled cookies without having to spend extra resources since grinding resources can be hard, especially for beginners. To unlock more slots, you’ll have to use a new currency called Radiant Shards.
Another feature of the hall is the Statue of Heroic Radiance. The statue can be leveled up from time to time, but you’ll have to meet the statue’s requirements. Leveling up requires resources, as well as having a minimum total of all your cookies’ levels. Boosted levels from the Hall of Ancient Heroes count for the necessary level value.
However, you should keep in mind that if any other event, quest, or mission specifies a cookie level requirement, the game will count the original level of your cookies and ignore the effects of the Hall of Ancient Heroes. To unlock the Hall of Ancient Heroes, you need to have cleared Stage 6-15 (in Story Mode) at least once, and to complete the quests regarding the Hall.
Super Mayhem: Paladin’s Oath
It has been several updates since the last Super Mayhem season, so fans of this game mode would be excited to have it back. Super Mayhem is very similar to Arena, except it requires you to use 3 teams per battle instead of just 1. A Grandmaster tier has also been added to Super Mayhem, so try to push for higher rewards!
While previous seasons had a feature where your teams would carry over to the next round (for example, if your first team is still alive after beating the other player’s team, your first team would go on to fight the opponent’s second team), this season has a new rule where only the first teams would fight, and then the second teams fight each other regardless of whether your first team had remaining health or not.
Increased Level Cap for Cookies: Level 70
As of now, level 70 is the new maximum level for your cookies. This means you’ll have to level up your current Arena cookies as fast as you can to catch up to everyone else! This also means you’ll deal higher damage to the Guild Battle dragon, so if you’re in a top guild, leveling up cookies like Sorbet Shark, Vampire, and Eclair would be a priority for you.
Kingdom Level 41 is required to upgrade your cookies to Level 65 while getting to level 70 requires Kingdom Level 42. While this might seem daunting to newer players, don’t worry! This update also increased the amount of XP Jelly players get from Cookie Houses, World Exploration, Fountain of Abundance, and Tower of Sweet Chaos, so leveling up your cookies would be easier from now on. Bounty Missions will also provide more Skill Powder.
Other miscellaneous features
5 new decor pieces are added to First Steps Towards Peace, which includes a special interactive decor for Crunchy Chip Cookie. Additionally, the Toppings now have an extra filter, where you can sort your toppings by their substats. For example, you can filter out which of your toppings have a Cooldown substat and find a good topping for your cookie quickly. You can pick 3 substats at a time.
