As we drew GamingonPhone Awards 2025 to a close, DC: Dark Legion scored a double at the event, winning Game of the Year and Mobile Game Adaptation of the Year awards. The game’s mix of iconic characters, strategy, and cinematic presentation impressed both the public and the Jury Panel.
The 5th edition of the GamingonPhone Awards 2025 celebrated the best in mobile gaming with 30 exciting categories. Held on October 17 in Bangkok, Thailand, it marked the event’s first-ever in-person ceremony. Winners were decided through votes from the Jury, the Public, and the GamingonPhone editorial team. With over 240 finalists competing, this year’s edition was an extravagant celebration of mobile gaming excellence.
DC Dark Legion bagged not one but two accolades at the Awards Gala
Developed by FunPlus and officially licensed by DC, the strategy title stood out for its impressive visuals, faithful adaptation of the DC universe, and its ability to blend storytelling with tactical gameplay.
Launched as a free-to-play strategy game on March 14, 2025, DC: Dark Legion brings together over 200 iconic heroes and villains from the DC universe. You can recruit and upgrade characters like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and The Joker, while building their Batcave as a strategic base.
In the Game of the Year category, DC: Dark Legion triumphed over seven other strong contenders: Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, Delta Force, MARVEL Mystic Mayhem, My Talking Tom Friends 2, Magic Chess: Go Go, Once Human, and Archero 2.
Adding to its success, DC: Dark Legion also clinched Mobile Game Adaptation of the Year, excelling at transforming a beloved IP into a fresh mobile experience. It outshone nominees that came from hit IPs like Avatar: Realms Collide, Blood Line: A Rebel Moon Game, Godzilla x Kong: Titan Chasers, HAIKYU!! FLY HIGH, MARVEL Mystic Mayhem, Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade, and Game of Thrones: Kingsroad.
The game was also nominated for Players’ Choice Game of the Year, though the fan-favourite Uma Musume Pretty Derby ultimately took home that title.
