Dead By Daylight leaks show a potential Dating Sim game might be in the making

Latest trademark registration raises questions

Dead By Daylight trademark points to dating sim as per the tweet shared on Twitter by DBDLeaks. Dead by Daylight is a multiplayer 1v4 horror game by Behaviour Interactive where one person plays the killer and four others are survivors who try to stay alive until the daylight comes out. Hence, the name Dead By Daylight.

On 16th February the Canadian studio has filed official paperwork to register the trademark for a project Hooked On You: A Dead by Daylight Dating Sim. According to the tweet, which is a screenshot, developer behavior appears to have trademarked the title ‘Hooked On You: A Dead By Daylight Dating Sim’.

Nature of Hooked On You: A Dead By Daylight Dating Sim remains unclear

Usually, companies or corporations will trademark names for protecting their future possibility to develop or create something with that name, but in this case, it somehow convinces us that it is a real thing.

Also, the fact that it was created two days after Valentine’s Day, could end up just being a placeholder for some additional content to the main game. Since there is no official statement or announcement it can also be a part of a joke or a prank from the side of the developers.

The filing is still intact or active with the United States Patent and Trademark Office which means we can expect something big for the title. Though it might sound odd, a killer dating sim wouldn’t be the strongest in the market because of the presence of similar games like the KFC dating sim that allows players to shoot their shot with silver fox Colonel Sanders. Also, there is an Indie game that lets one hook up with Lovecraft monster Cthulhu. Dead By Daylight may be a horror game but the community will look forward to a dating sim.
