- Digimon: Source Code is now live in China with next-gen visuals with PBR.
- Hatch Digi-Eggs with no stamina limits and casual mini-games are part of gameplay.
- Details about global release hasn't been revealed yet.
Digimon: Source Code has finally launched on mobile, but at the time of writing, it is only available in China. From the house of Bandai Namco, the gameplay is mainly a turn-based RPG, although the developers claim exploration mechanics and idle elements are also featured.
Developed by Bandai Namco (Shanghai) and Kingnet, and officially licensed by Toei Animation, Digimon: Source Code has come a long way since its China-exclusive closed beta in 2021 and gameplay debut at ChinaJoy in 2023.
Classic Digimon like WarGreymon, Rosemon, and MetalGarurumon will be appearing in the game
The game brings you right back into the heart of the Digital World with a mix of nostalgia and next-gen visuals. Thanks to advanced PBR (Physically Based Rendering) tech, you’ll see Digimon with some realistic, expressive, and full of life across environments like forests, snowy mountains, deserts, and ruins.
From what’s mentioned on the website, you’re free to explore without stamina limits. Instead of relying on gacha mechanics, you can hatch Digi-Eggs while exploring the map, making it much easier to complete your Digimon collection without spending money.
Battles come with a twist, too, thanks to the new “Overload” system lets you unleash powerful abilities at just the right time, and certain Digimon can even combine for co-op attacks. Oh yes, mentioning Digimon, classic names like WarGreymon, Rosemon, and MetalGarurumon are all here.
So if you are from China and want to test out the game, Digimon: Source Code is available on both Android and iOS, which you can get from the official website. Going by previous info, there haven’t been any signs of global release, but in the future, if we get it, keep following this space for updates.
