Electronic Arts or EA has been a household name in the mobile games industry with its pool of sports games including FC Mobile, Madden Mobile, NBA Live Mobile, UFC Mobile, and others. Recently EA announced a new social app, the EA Sports App that promises to connect, engage, and reward sports fans by blending real and virtual sports content.
EA Sports App provides a wide range of features, promising the ultimate sports fan experience
The brand new EA Sports App is set to soft-launch in Spain this fall for both Android and iOS devices, delivering a combination of sports content, live sports data, social messaging, interactivity, challenges, and more centered on Global Football in collaboration with Spain’s 1st division football league, LALIGA. As the app soft-launches, players can already expect:
- Community ‘Arenas’: Boasting EA’s vibrant community, the in-app Social features make it easy to connect and engage with others, share achievements, and celebrate victories together.
- Discovery Feed: Fans can stay up-to-date with the latest news, stats, and highlights from their favorite sports and teams engage with engaging content from EA Sports
- Play: Fans can participate in interactive challenges before, during, and after live games, competing against friends and other fans to earn rewards.
According to David Tinson, EA’s EVP and Chief Experiences Officer, the brand social app is expected to function similarly to existing sports-based apps such as ESPN, OneFootball, Goal, etc featuring sports news from around the world, live scores, and highlights, with the added incentive of EA’s sports games portfolio, rewarding players with in-game rewards and organizing exclusive community events.
“The EA SPORTS App’s mission is clear: to empower fans to come together, share their passion, and celebrate the sports they love. The App opens up a new world of possibilities to reach sports fans beyond our games, as well as new audiences who crave more social, interactive and always-on sports experiences. We can’t wait for fans to discover, play and connect as the experience becomes more widely available.”
David Tinson
With EA Sports recently acquiring the title sponsor of LALIGA, the home of the most valuable football clubs in the world including Real Madrid and Barcelona, and the app soft-launching in Spain, it is expected that the EA Sports App will be primarily focused on Global Football, at least initially! Although knowing EA’s grip on the sports games industry, it won’t be long before you can witness the likes of Madden NFL NHL, F1, and NCAA Football in the EA SPORTS App.
