Electronic Arts has quietly rolled out a new mobile game playtest for its co-op-focused simulation title City Life Game with Friends. This playtest caters only to the Android audience in Australia and the Philippines and will conclude on April 4, 2025.
Part of the ever-popular Sims franchise, this appears to be an early playtest for Project Rene, the much-anticipated Sims spinoff.
Create characters and explore the neighborhoods with City Life Game with Friends
From the snippets shared, City Life Game with Friends is a social life simulation where you create your unique characters, choose the style of your style, and explore a lively neighborhood with friends and other players.
The game offers various activities, including working at a local cafe, completing quests, and unlocking new outfits from the Thrift Shop. Given the emphasis on the co-op aspect, it is surely looking to offer the best Sims experience.
Sims 5, or Project Rene, was revealed back in October 2022 when the mobile version was confirmed after a playtest where testers discovered its existence. Following the development update in 2023, the game has been confirmed to be free-to-play with no core purchase required.
You can play the City Life Game with Friends playtest via the Google Play Store. For now, those outside Australia and the Philippines must wait. This playtest is meant to test certain features and does not fully represent the final game. You can report issues or share ideas through the Discord server.
