- Plants vs. Zombies is a popular tower defense strategy series where you use plants to fight off zombies.
- A new installment or a revamp of the franchise seems likely, though details are scarce for now.
- The game received an L rating, which is Brazil’s equivalent of the ESRB’s E for Everyone rating.
PopCap Games’ iconic casual strategy franchise, Plants vs. Zombies, appears to be making a strong comeback with Plants vs. Zombies Reloaded, which has reportedly been rated by the Brazilian classification board. The listing suggests the game may launch on Android, iOS, PC, PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series X/S.
EA may be working on a new title called Plants vs. Zombies Reloaded
It came as a surprise but the Brazilian classification board has rated a new title called Plants vs. Zombies Reloaded, giving us hope for a potential new installment in the beloved franchise. This news comes after Plants vs. Zombies 3 was removed from soft launch on app stores to undergo a major overhaul, following an earlier revamp after its initial soft launch in late February 2020.
While details remain scarce, with the term, Reloaded, we can speculate this game reintroduces the classic battle between brain-hungry zombies and quirky plants, possibly with enhanced visuals, new game modes, and additional content.
Plants vs. Zombies Reloaded is expected to launch on multiple platforms upon release
Interestingly, the classification also suggests that the game is expected to launch on multiple platforms, including Android, iOS, PC, PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series X/S, although there’s a possibility that it may not be released anywhere.
Without an official notice from PopCap Games or ELECTRONIC ARTS (EA), we can’t surely determine whether this will be a revamped version or an entirely new installment in the franchise. Additionally, considering EA is exploring a different art style for Plants vs. Zombies 3, we can’t surely say what they are planning.

That being said, I am anticipating more updates on this development. Given recent trends, I am also hoping for a multiplayer mode and stunning visuals. Stay tuned in this space for more information regarding this title.
