eFootball is now lit up with the v4.0.0 Season Update and we have a lot in store when it comes to the new update. KONAMI has tried its very best to make this update more colourful and vibrant, and with many features added, it would be an awesome way to kickstart the new football season. With that being mentioned, let us see what are the new features in store for us in this latest season of football entertainment.
eFootball v4.0.0 Season Update: All new features explained
A fresh colourful UI
This you might have identified from the snippets itself as we will be getting a polished and colorful new UI. It reminds me of a carnival though. This update will once again feature Lionel Messi on the title screen, as he is the brand ambassador. Compared to the previous two themes we’ve had, this one is vibrant and bright, bringing back memories of the classic PES days with its lively screens and visuals.
Weather Options
Now available on mobile will be the weather options. Yeah lads, no more of the sunny or night lights only. Us mobile players can look forward to more immersive gameplay, as weather options like Rainy and Snow conditions are being added.

I’m curious if these will affect ball movements or such since they should, but since it is on mobile, we can give it a pass. In addition, these can be applied in multiple modes, including My League, Exhibition, and matches against friends as well so that you play many matches through different weather scenarios.
New Gameplay Features
The upcoming eFootball update will introduce two exciting gameplay features. The first is the return of the fan-favorite Finesse Dribble control, allowing you to enjoy more tactical battles between offense and defense. With improved usability, this control provides greater flexibility for tricking your opponents and executing precise dribbles.
Additionally, improvements to the Physical Contact stat will further improve the realism aspect of physical encounters. In situations where there is contact between attackers and defenders, the player with the higher Physical Contact stat will now hold the advantage, so you don’t have to worry about smaller, physically weaker players bullying your stronger centrebacks.
Double Boosts

Alright folks, if you were tired of not getting those shiny Booster cards in your account, you will have something else to worry about now. The latest eFootball update introduces a new feature called Booster Slot, designed to enhance how you can boost your favorite cards. With this addition, you can now use Booster Crafting to equip a Booster for your player.
Smart Assist Control
Additionally, Smart Assist, a new control type, will be available as a trial version. This feature will automate key actions like shot power and dribbling direction, making it easier to manage complex gameplay moments, especially for beginners.
From Trial Match to Exhibition

When you log in to the game after updating to v4.0.0, you will now notice that the Trial Match mode will be renamed to Exhibition, allowing you to play with all available clubs and national teams. You’ll also be able to customize various match settings, such as Match Level and Match Time, just like you could do for Friend matches.
New Ambassador packs
Like every season, we can also sign some top players, with Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr. featured in the Ambassador Edition. This will be available in Standard and Deluxe versions, featuring Highlight players and in-game training items. The details of the pack are given below.

Other additional updates
The latest eFootball update brings several enhancements to My League, including the addition of Competition Info and Records. Competition Info now highlights player rankings for key stats like Goals Scored and Assists, while Records offers a detailed view of season totals. Additionally, time-limited Badges are now clearly marked with a time-limited label.
In terms of player development, Player Progression has been improved. Progression resets no longer require GP, making it easier to try different builds for a player. A new feature also automatically allocates Progression Points to maximize a player’s Overall Rating upon leveling up. Plus, players no longer have contract durations, so no contract ticket system.
The latest eFootball season now begins as of September 12th, 2024, with a host of new updates and features as mentioned above. With a couple of days to go, prepare for these exciting updates and the start of a fresh season!
