CEO Andrew Wilson has made an announcement regarding the restructure of Electronic Arts (EA) studios. The restructuring plan involves dividing the company into two distinct organizations: EA Entertainment and EA Sports. New appointments have also been followed, which we will see below.
New appointments have been made for both organizations
As far as new faces are concerned, Laura Miele has been appointed President of EA Entertainment, Technology & Central Development. Vince Zampella will lead the studios responsible for  Apex Legends Mobile, Battlefield Mobile, and Star Wars games. Samantha Ryan will continue to go on leading lifestyle franchises and single-player experiences. Jeff Karp will continue to lead the mobile division.
The newly structured EA Sports will also be under new management. Cam Weber has been appointed President of EA Sports, overseeing the EA Sports experiences and racing portfolio. David Tinson is the newly appointed EVP and Chief Experiences Officer, leading the EA Experiences team. Stuart Canfield has been appointed EA’s new EVP and Chief Financial Officer.Â
Andrew Wilson stated: “EA Entertainment encompasses extraordinary owned IP, including some of the world’s most beloved blockbuster franchises, as well as licensed IP through powerful collaborations. We’re building the future of interactive entertainment on a foundation of legendary franchises and innovative new experiences, which represents massive opportunities for growth.”
The CEO has also stated that the objective behind this evolution is to provide greater creative ownership and financial accountability to studio leaders, enabling them to make informed decisions regarding development and go-to-market strategies more efficiently.
