Over the years, Gameloft has played a key role in the mobile gaming market. The French video game publisher has presented us with some incredible titles like the Asphalt series, Six Guns, Sniper Fury, Gangstar Vegas, and many more. Gameloft is now adding another new studio in the French capital city of Paris, this will be the company’s 18th studio overall.
Gameloft’s new Paris studio will be working on a new free-to-play game
In the last few years, Gameloft has been actively working to leverage the company’s expertise in free-to-play games, and to do this Gameloft has been working on a new title which they describe as “an action and sport-oriented experience for multiplayer and cross-play.”
The new studio in Paris will primarily focus on this title and will be headed by the studio manager of Gameloft, Julien Billard. The new title Gameloft is working on will be supposedly released on both PC and Console, the new studio will be located near the existing Gameloft and will be employing up to 30 staff members by the end of this year.
Gameloft can benefit from the French government’s support
This comes amidst the time when French President Emmanuel Macron in his Presidential election campaign said he wants to make “France the country of video games,” including a hub for both game development and esports. Gameloft CEO Stéphane Roussel said that the company is definitely international and multicultural but the roots are in France.
