- Carmen Sandiego will be a single-player puzzle adventure
- Players need to solve puzzles and outsmart criminals from the VILE organization
- The game will have no in-game purchases or online play
Gameloft and HarperCollins Productions have announced their upcoming game Carmen Sandiego. This new title will bring back the legendary iconic master thief, Carmen Sandiego for another thrilling adventure as a game for Mobile, PC, and Consoles, which is set for a release in Q1 of 2025.
Embark on thrilling missions in the shoes of Carmen Sandiego
With the series being featured on Netflix, the game will arrive exclusively on the platform. For the first time, you’ll control the iconic master thief, experiencing the excitement of being Carmen Sandiego on thrilling missions. In this single-player puzzle adventure, you’ll get to step into Carmen Sandiego’s shoes.
Wearing her famous red coat and hat, you explore a world full of espionage, high-tech gadgets, and clever heists. From what the makers have shared, it blends classic Carmen Sandiego excitement with a fresh, modern twist. The game will take you on a journey to famous places like Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo, where you’ll solve puzzles and outsmart criminals from the VILE organization.
This is not the first time Gameloft has arrived with a Carmen Sandiego game. Back in 2009, a special edition of the game was released called Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego? that saw the titular character and her VILE gang steal jewels from museums across the globe.
What I’m very excited about is that this is a game with no in-game purchases or online play, so you can just play anytime, anywhere as you progress and complete the game. If the game has multiple endings or has enough number of paths to keep us interested, replayability will be something to look forward to as it releases.
2025 will complete 40 years of the franchise since its inception in 1985, so the multiplatform game coming out early next year will be something to look forward to. At the time of writing, the Carmen Sandiego release date hasn’t been confirmed yet, so stay tuned for further updates as you can check the official website.
