A new Haikyu!! mobile game has officially been announced, as Haikyu!! ALL Challengers is set to bring volleyball action to smartphones, with pre-registration now open in Japan. The game is from TOHO Games and TOHO Animation, which is producing the upcoming special anime and the movie based on the blockbuster franchise.

So, about the game, there’s very little info, and the gameplay visuals are not extensively shared, but I’ll chip in all the details that I’ve seen so far. The developers say this title is a full-fledged training simulation game, as per the translation.
Going by that, Haikyu!! ALL Challengers focuses heavily on player development and team building. You’ll be training characters like Shoyo Hinata and others by deciding how to improve their stats and planning out training routines.
This mix of training simulation and match gameplay seems to be the core loop, and from the trailer visuals, the gameplay will be portrait. The animations look straight up like the anime, so that’s another major plus coming from the same development studio.
More details include that the game will feature hand-drawn 2D anime-style animations and illustrations. On top of that, newly recorded voice lines have also been confirmed, which should add more authenticity to each character, so I, as a fan, can’t wait for Tobio Kageyama, Kei Tsukishima, and Nishinoya to feature.
Pre-registration for Haikyu!! ALL Challengers is currently live in Japan via the official website, with no confirmed global release details yet. A pre-registration campaign is also underway, offering in-game items such as gacha tickets as well as Amazon gifts for those who pre-order in advance.
Given how other games from the IP, HAIKYU!! TOUCH THE DREAM and Garena’s HAIKYU!! FLY HIGH made its way across multiple regions, I am expecting the same with Haikyu!! ALL Challengers.
