The cozy and creative world of Heartopia is about to get even more exciting. With the upcoming April 16 update, you can look forward to one of the game’s most anticipated community events, the Beaver Build Challenge. Not only does this event highlight creativity and teamwork, but it also introduces a charming Fairy Tale Wonderland theme chosen directly by the community.
Because of this, you can expect a wide range of imaginative builds (Which Heartopia is already known for). From enchanted castles to whimsical cottages, the possibilities are endless. More importantly, the theme encourages players to think creatively and push the limits of the game’s building tools.
What you can expect and how it works
The Beaver Build Challenge officially kicks off on April 25, starting with a preparation phase that runs until May 1. During this time, eligible D.G. members can form teams of up to four players and plan their builds.
Next, the creation phase runs from May 2 to May 22, giving teams several weeks to construct their entries. Players can build together, open their creations to visitors, and explore other entries for inspiration.
After that, the exhibition phase begins from May 23 to June 5. During this period, players can visit different builds using features like random visits or by searching player IDs. However, visits require Build Challenge Helicopter Tokens, which can be earned through gameplay activities.
Finally, the selection phase takes place from June 6 to June 19, where winners are announced, and rewards are distributed. Winning teams will receive exclusive souvenirs via in-game mail, and players can revisit their builds through a limited-time terminal.
The Event isn’t the only thing to expect in the April 2026 update
While the Beaver Build Challenge is the main highlight, the update also introduces several improvements. For starters, pets, especially cats, will now interfere less during activities like cooking, and you can better organize pet costumes.
Fashion lovers will also have something to celebrate. The clothing store is getting fresh new items, giving you more customization options. Also, the collection system has been upgraded, now offering better filtering, clearer displays, and new rewards such as the Fortune Clover outfit series.
On top of that, the co-op building has been expanded, allowing players to collaborate on island builds more easily. Social features have also improved, including better in-game chat and more control over interactions in custom towns.
In addition, new animal gifts and behaviors have been added. To round things off, a limited-time bonus event will reward players with Double Moonlight Crystals for guild sign-ins between April 27 and May 11. Overall, the Beaver Build Challenge looks like a major win for Heartopia players.
