HoYoverse is coming with the Version 2.4 update for Honkai: Star Rail, titled “Finest Duel Under the Pristine Blue,” which will be released by the end of this month on July 31st, 2024. This update will bring the Astral Express Crew back to the Xianzhou Luofu. Here, they will reconnect with old friends and make new ones at the Wardance ceremony. This Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.4 update will also bring 5-star characters from the said region, Yunli and Jiaoqiu. Additionally, the beloved character March 7th will begin her own martial arts journey.
In the new version update, you will experience the unfolding story of the Wardance ceremony. Though the Ambrosial Arbor crisis is over, you will remain key witnesses to Xianzhou Luofu’s ongoing saga. The Wardance festival celebrates the victory of the Rainbow Arbiter and the Cloud Knight against the Abominations of Abundance, aiming to lift the spirits of Luofu residents. You will receive an invitation as a gesture of peace and hospitality. Reunite with familiar faces like Yanqing and meet new figures like General Feixiao and General Huaiyan.
Discover the New Map in Version 2.4 update: The Shackling Prison
If you want to explore the new map, The Shackling Prison, introduced in Version 2.4, you should prepare for an intense adventure. Overseen by the Ten-Lords Commission, this formidable facility is where Xueyi and Hanya perform their duties. The prison, which detains the realm’s most notorious criminals, is hidden beneath the waters of Scalegorge Waterscape, adding an extra layer of mystery. As you pass through the Sea-Stilling Gate, you will arrive at the dispatch hub.
Below, the prison floors descend into darkness, their true depth unknown. You will also encounter ruthless wolflike monsters called Borisin, known for their innate Moon Rage. The map design is expansive but confined in certain areas, built like an interconnected circle of passages with various meeting points and dead ends.
March 7th gets a new form and features in
If you are interested, you should know that March 7th gets a new form as a character upon returning to Xianzhou Luofu. Filled with excitement for the upcoming Wardance, she eagerly begins her journey as a swordmaster apprentice under Yunli and Yanqing. In combat, when using her Skill, March 7th designates a teammate as her Shifu and gives them a special beverage to increase their SPD.
When these Charges reach a certain number, she immediately takes action again and gets an Enhanced Basic ATK. Additionally, depending on her Shifu’s Path, her attacks gain extra effects. For instance, Shifus on the Paths of Destruction, Erudition, or The Hunt can enhance specific attacks to deal Additional DMG, while those on the Paths of Nihility, Harmony, Preservation, or Abundance can increase the Toughness Reduction of specific attacks.
Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.4 update will feature two new playable characters and reruns
1. Yunli
If you’re looking forward to new characters, you should first know about Yunli, a 5-star Physical-Type character following the Path of Destruction. Debuting in the upcoming version, Yunli is a prodigy swordmaster from Xianzhou Zhuming, trained by her grandfather, General Huaiyan.In combat, Yunli uses her unique Counter ability to retaliate against attackers, dealing damage to them and nearby enemies.
Her Ultimate ability places her in a Parry state, reducing damage taken, taunting enemies, and significantly increasing her CRIT DMG. Yunli is expected to debut in the first half of version 2.4 by July 31st, 2024.
2. Jiaoqiu
You will also meet Jiaoqiu, a 5-star character with the Fire-Type character on the Path of Nihility, arriving as a delegate from Xianzhou Yaoqing. Jiaoqiu is a foxian healer and counselor, known for his cunning nature and alchemical skills. He specializes in creating meals that inspire and heal, with his abilities centered around the Ashen Roast debuff.
This debuff burns enemies, increasing the damage they take as stacks build up. His Ultimate transforms the battlefield into a yuan yang hot pot, enhancing the effects of Ashen Roast and boosting teammates’ combat effectiveness
3. HuoHuo and Sparkle Rerun
If you’re interested in powerful support characters, you should know that Huohuo and Sparkle will be available again. Huohuo, a Wind-Type healer, excels at dispelling debuffs and restoring HP. Her Ultimate regenerates energy for allies and boosts their ATK.
Sparkle, another strong support character, also returns, ensuring you have robust options for enhancing your team. Sparkle features an amazing skill set that gives more skill points and skill point storage for your team, which is highly useful for strong DPS characters that require a lot of skill points.
Honkai: Star Rail x Fate/Stay Night UB collaboration is announced
HoYoverse has also announced a collaboration between Honkai: Star Rail and the Fate/Stay Night [Unlimited Blade Works] anime for Q3 2025. Even though it’s early to announce, it’s clear why they’re excited as HSR has a lot of inspiration from UBW.
If you’re a fan of either series, you should look forward to this. As of now, the information is limited but there are a lot of speculations and discussions within the community with this big collab. The collaboration could bring new content and special events that mix the best of both worlds, so it’s a great time to stay tuned.
