Hot Lap League: Racing Mania, a pretty well-designed racing title developed by Ultimate Studio, a partner to the extremely successful and well-known Supercell, is now announced to end the development of the game and it will be converted to a free title, from its previous status of a paid title. The title was released earlier this April with multiple tracks, PvP action, and more.
Poor financial performance has led developers to end the development of Hot Lap League: Racing Mania
In an announcement on their official Discord server, the developers made their decision public. Hot Lap League will no longer receive any new content or features. The reason for this is poor financial performance as it seems like the game hasn’t received enough attention and hasn’t brought in enough revenue to justify further development.
This is quite unfortunate as the game was quite impressive and enjoyable and while it didn’t do anything new, it provided a well-developed racing experience. Now the game will remain up for grabs on the platforms it released on (both Android and iOS included) and for completely free so this means that more people can try it out, although there will be no fresh additions.
Now it is sad to see such a title go down like this. However, Ultimate Studio will be working on other titles and if they’re as good as Hot Lap League and their monetization system is improved, then we might get better titles in the future. It should be interesting to see what the developers learn from their mistakes with Hot Lap League and how their upcoming titles turn out.
