JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure mobile game is in the works as anime-based title eyes 2025 launch

A year to wait!

A new mobile game based on the popular anime series, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, is currently being developed and is expected to be released in 2025. The Japanese company gumi Inc. has obtained the rights to distribute this game for mobile devices in its home country.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is renowned as one of the best-selling manga series of all time. The franchise includes the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure TV series, based on which the game is being developed. Its narrative centers around the mysterious exploits of the Joestar family spanning multiple generations, starting from the late 19th century and extending into modern times.

I don’t doubt gumi’s development track record, as they are behind some of the big mobile game names such as The Alchemist Code and were also the co-developers behind Square Enix’s role-playing game Final Fantasy Brave Exvius as well as the franchise’s War of the Visions.

However, I’m not sure what the genre of the game would be, but I think they might lean into the action-adventure theme of the original anime franchise. With supernatural elements, it might also add to the game setting, which might also have them make a turn-based RPG, which is the norm now for most of the adaptations.

While gumi handling the Japan release, KLab looks to publish for rest of the regions

The game is presently undergoing active development at gumi, with plans to launch it in 2025, with the date not confirmed yet. I see JoJo’s would be released once gumi’s tactical RPG Aster Tatariqus gets globally launched, which is currently delayed. Updates on the development progress will be provided to players from time to time. For the same, keep an eye on the official website for updates.

If you ask me, the global launch of the game will surely come, even though the domestic publication rights are under gumi, since its titles have got global launches. If both the games are the same, which looks likely, KLab is going to release the global version since they acquired worldwide distribution rights in 2022 except for Japan.

Overall, it would be a missed opportunity if a franchise like JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure doesn’t get its mobile game launched globally. Ensuring the game reaches all players worldwide will be a top priority for them, as they understand the significance of reaching a broad audience with such a beloved franchise.
