Nexon, a leading game developer and publisher, has announced a global collaboration between two cherished franchises: free-to-play mobile kart racing sensation KartRider Rush+ and SEGA’s most recognizable character, Sonic the Hedgehog, who will meet for the first time in an epic team-up!
For this occasion, however, not only Sonic is being added to the game. You’ll be able to play Shadow, Tails, and Knuckles, among other characters from the franchise. Sonic is the only character in the game who is completely free to play and will only be available for a limited time as a permanent addition to the roster.
The collaboration comes on the verge of Sonic the Hedgehog 2‘s release in theaters. This is not the iconic character’s only mobile appearance since the release of the movie, as he also appeared for a brief stint in Candy Crush Saga in late March 2022.
Collect all the shards and exchange them for exclusive in-game items in this collaboration
Dao and Bazzi from KartRider are teaming up with Sonic, the fastest hedgehog in the universe, in a race to collect all the shards! Shards can be exchanged for exclusive in-game items once they’ve been collected. Racers can earn a temporary Sonic character kart or a permanent Sonic character kart that will remain as a selectable racer permanently by completing daily missions in brand new Sonic-themed events! The KartRider Rush+ X Sonic the Hedgehog limited-time event is running now through to June 30th, 2022.
The rest are included in special packs, such as the Red Star Ring Pack, which you may purchase in the game. That is if you really want these characters in the game and are willing to pay for them. But, is a little disappointing when you walk into the game and realize that packs cost anything from $8 to $17.
