Krafton and Indian Diplomats join hands to celebrate 50 years of India-Korea Relations

As India and South Korea celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations, Indian diplomats to South Korea and the Chairman of gaming company Krafton Inc. met and discussed India’s thriving gaming ecosystem and the company’s focus on the Indian market.

At the company’s Seoul headquarters, Krafton Inc. Chairman Byung Gyu (BG) Chang recently met Nishi Kant Singh, Deputy Head of Mission to the Republic of Korea, and Amit Kumar, Ambassador of India to the Republic of Korea. Sean Hyunil Sohn, CEO of Krafton India, attended the conference as well. The publisher of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), the most played mobile game in India, as well as other well-liked titles including Road to Valor: Empires, Defense Derby, and New State Mobile.

The 50th anniversary of India-Korea diplomatic relations and Krafton’s expanded investments in India were at the forefront of the meeting’s discussions. The Indian Ambassador made a point of highlighting the government’s dedication to promoting the gaming and entertainment sectors.

This comes along with the startup growth that was raised during the conversations, a goal that is closely matched with Krafton’s ongoing investments in India. The finest gaming teams from both South Korea and India will compete in BGMI matches in India in October 2023 as part of the India-Korea Invitational matches hosted by Krafton.

BG Chang emphasized the value of the Indian market for Krafton, outlining his goal of having the business’ expansion coincide with India’s development. In order to improve India’s gaming ecosystem and offer new gaming experiences to Indian gamers, he emphasized the need for collaboration between the two countries. He added that Krafton’s approach in India continues to be based on the booming conventional gaming market, which is expanding at a double-digit rate.
