Kuro Games takes legal action against user leaking Wuthering Waves version 1.4 content

A much needed move?

Story Highlights
  • Kuro Games issued legal warning to leaker for disclosing WuWa content.
  • Recently, the version 1.4 update was widely leaked all over social media.

Kuro Games is officially taking legal action against those who leaked content from the upcoming 1.4 update of Wuthering Waves. Leakers have recently reviewed details from the 1.3 and 1.4 version updates, revealing information about banners, story elements, and more.

This isn’t the first time, the devs of a popular game have sued leakers for disclosing upcoming content ahead of time with HoYoverse previously suing Ubatcha and Bilibili for leaking Genshin Impact content.

Kuro Games has issued a formal warning to WuWa leaker

Kuro Games has previously addressed the ongoing situation regarding leaks through a tweet, highlighting their strict action against any unauthorized disclosure of WuWa content.

They have ultimately decided to take legal action against leakers following the recent 1.4 version update, which introduced Camellya, a 5-star Havoc resonator, and Lumi, a 4-star Resonator as the first banner, Yinlin or Jinhsi as the second banner, among other content.

After gathering sufficient evidence, they issued a formal warning to a user for disclosing unreleased content of version 1.4 on the Mimimi platform. They are taking a strong stance against leakers, giving them only 2 days to fulfill all the requirements to avoid legal action.

The leaker must now take the following steps to avoid legal action:

  • The user must immediately and completely delete and remove all content related to the unreleased Wuthering Waves game update that has been published. They must also take effective measures to prevent further transmission of this information, including but not limited to stopping private messaging, comments, and any communication involving sharing this information. All related content must be deleted and removed.
  • On platforms such as BiliBili and KuJie District, the user needs to issue a public statement and apology to Wuthering Waves players on behalf of the company.
  • They must contact Kuro Games through email at legal@kurogames.com to inform them of the results of the handling and provide a rectification plan.

Many players are unhappy with this decision, arguing that WuWa’s marketing is lacking and that these leaks create hype and excitement for the new banners and updates. Some players suggest an increase in overseas advertisement for the game, while others request a roadmap or future previews.
