Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue Saga for Android and iOS devices has been announced. Legend of the Galactic Heroes (LOTGH) is a series of popular sci-fi novels written by Yoshiki Tanaka. The novels are going to serve as the main inspiration for the video game adaptation that is going to be released soon. However, the game will be mainly based upon the reboot series, Die Neue These (a rebooted anime series based upon LOTGH). It has been confirmed that the game will be developed by the Japanese studio Aiming.
Experience an epic clash between two futuristic interstellar states
The story of Legend of the Galactic Heroes is set in the distant future where two interstellar states are fighting against each other. The two states are the monarchic Galactic Empire and the democratic Free Planets Alliance.
At present, we only have this initial announcement for the Legend of the Galactic Heroes mobile game and a teaser website that features characters from the two interstellar states in the novel. The game will be a strategy game and will feature the characters and battleships from the reboot series.
Players will play the part of a commander, with the lofty end goal of galactic unification. It will be free to play, so we can safely assume there will be some form of gacha mechanics in the game. Legend of the Galactic Heroes is a staggeringly long-running space opera series. Like the Star Wars franchise, it has been adapted into many other media including comics and television. The story has been reinterpreted many times over the years with the central themes remaining the same.
Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue Saga might initially release in Japan only
As of now no release dates for Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue Saga has been announced by the developers. Since it is expected to feature gacha mechanics the game is most likely going to have a Japan-only release in the upcoming months.
