The decade old game is about to get a sequel!

Love Live School Idol which was launched on a global stage in 2014 will shut down the servers for the game, as confirmed by KLab Games and Bushiroad. The game will see its servers being closed on March 31, 16:00 [JST].

The game will be replaced by Love Live School Idol Festival 2 Miracle Live

Love Live School Idol Festival 2 Miracle Live is currently in the works thus Love Live School Idol Festival shutting down its servers doesn’t come as a shock. As things stand the developers will replace the game with a newer version of the game.

The developers are set to shut down both the global and the Japanese servers on the exact same day with the in-app purchases like gems and other in-game currency being suspended, the game will no longer be available for download after March 31. All Love Gems and tickets you own and don’t use, including passes, will expire on the same day.

It will be interesting to see how many features of the current game will be carried onto the next game, which is right now in development, and if the saves of the current players will be transferred to the new title upon release. The game has been around for more than a decade and has been many people’s first Gacha experience.

Love Live! School Idol Festival’s Japanese server has a rating of 4.7 on the QooApp Game Store with over 26000 ratings, and the global server has a rating of 4.6! This shows how popular the game became for its time. This however also creates a huge benchmark for the new game to compete against, it will be really interesting how much the new title will be able to deliver.
