Marvel Entertainment and Niantic announced together to produce MARVEL World of Heroes, back in September 2022. In 2023, the entire world will be introduced to MARVEL World of Heroes, a mobile AR game that brings the well-known Marvel Universe into the real world. And now the developers, Niantic have just announced that the game, MARVEL World of Heroes has entered soft launch in New Zealand and is now available to download on the Google Play and Apple App Stores.
Marvel World of Heroes allows you to design your own superhero persona
The first Marvel game in which players can design their own unique Marvel superhero, Marvel World of Heroes innovates by integrating gaming into the real world in the way that only Niantic games can. In this multiplayer video game, players battle Marvel Super Villains and interdimensional threats alongside their friends and famous Marvel superhero allies.
In this game, players can create their own unique Super Hero avatar and narrative. Players will need to police their local communities in order to put an end to crimes, complete Super Hero missions, and thwart interdimensional dangers. In order to defeat famed Super Villains and protect the Multiverse from cosmic and terrestrial threats, players can level up and acquire new tools and talents, team up with Marvel Super Heroes like Spider-Man, Wolverine, Captain America, and others, and earn new equipment and skills.
Niantic builds augmented reality technology that powers the real-world metaverse. Their Lightship platform is the world’s first scaled AR platform, enabling developers around the world to create sophisticated AR experiences for phones and eventually AR glasses. Lightship is also the foundation for Niantic’s hit games, including Pokémon GO, Pikmin Bloom, and Ingress. But as for now enthusiasts residing in the country of New Zealand can try out this game from the house of Niantic as it is available on Google Play and Apple App Store.

How to download Peridot on Android (APK)
- To get the game, you need a Google Play account from New Zealand.
- Use a VPN and connect to either of the above regions. Then head over to the Google Play Store and create a new account
- Skip the step where the Play Store asks you if you want to add a phone number. Then finish setting up the account.
- Click here or search for Peridot to download the game.
- Keep your VPN on to play the game when the servers are live.
How to download Marvel World of Heroes on iOS
- Go to the App Store and sign out of your current Apple ID.
- Click on Sign In and choose the option which allows you to create a new Apple ID.
- Fill in New Zealand as your region and then fill in the rest of the details. Then, click “Next.”
- Fill in the rest of the details required.
- Select “None” as the Payment Method.
- Fill in the verification code you received in your email.
At this point, you’ll have access to the Japanese App Store. Just search for Marvel World of Heroes or click here and then download the game. Do remember since the game has only launched in New Zealand, the language will be English and you won’t be able to switch the in-game language.
The MARVEL World of Heroes beta is only currently limited to the selected regions so you may face server and latency issues while playing the game on your devices.
