Minecraft 1.20 will feature the Archaeology update

Start the digging!

Minecraft has been very popular for a long time for allowing creative freedom to its players and introducing cool updates once in a while. Once again, to the delight of the fans, Minecraft has confirmed a new update is coming. The heavily discussed Archaeology feature will be coming soon with the Minecraft 1.20 update.

Dig new site areas with the Archaeology feature

The update was first announced in the yearly event Minecraft Live in October 2022, although no details of the dig and dive feature were revealed. Minecraft fans might remember that the discussions of this feature were first done during Minecraft Live 2020, where they had also discussed the Cliffs and Caves update.

Now the wait is finally fruitful. Minecraft players can have their new career path in the game as a Minecraft Archeologist once the update is live. Explore the temples and deserts, find a nice new plot or a place where you find there’s something suspicious, and do your shoveling duties!

What’s new is a stumbling block named the suspicious sand, where miners have to be careful. To help players with it, a new tool called the brush will help you remove the misery that is the suspicious sand. Once this is done, players can extract whatever is hiding within, from pottery shards that can be put together into a pot to other objects, which we’ll see once the update is live.

Minecraft has confirmed that more features of the 1.20 update will be revealed later. They will also add more items as the development of the Archaeology feature progresses. As the release date is still not confirmed, players wait for what’s coming.
