Miniclip announces partnership with Make-A-Wish UK to grant 50 wishes for Wish 200 Week

The partnership coincides with the third annual Wish 200 Week!

A global pioneer in digital gaming, Miniclip, has announced a partnership with Make-A-Wish UK to support 50 gaming-related wishes for children with severe diseases and their families that will change their lives.

This new agreement strengthens Miniclip’s engagement with Make-A-Wish UK after years of long-term support for the organization, including President and Co-Founder Rob Small’s role as a patron. This builds on their dedication to using the good power of gaming and its communities to benefit others.

Miniclip to help Make-A-Wish UK grant 50 life-changing wishes, through sponsorship and volunteering

The centerpiece of this partnership is Miniclip’s pledge to support Make-A-Wish UK in granting 50 wishes that will change the course of people’s lives by sponsoring, volunteering, and involving its players in initiatives like Wish 200 Week. Miniclippers will have fun and innovative chances to get involved in raising money and awareness and offering their time thanks to Miniclip Gives Champions, the guardians of the brand’s charitable efforts and alliances.

Additionally, Miniclip is urging the gaming community to band together and contribute money for the yearly Wish 200 Week. Wish 200 Week, which takes place from July 24 to July 30, 2023, asks gamers, business titans, and content producers to stage sponsored live streams, challenges, and unique events to earn money. 200 children and young people will have their wishes granted thanks to the entire amount of money contributed. This year, Miniclip will once again support the initiative by funding a share of the 200 wishes, encouraging player participation through in-game marketing, and assisting Make-A-Wish UK in reaching its target.

Over the years, it has been wonderful to witness the gaming community come together to support the wishes of other players. I’m honored to be a part of a sector that is utilizing its influence to benefit others, especially in light of the support that Make-A-Wish UK has received. The opportunity to collaborate even more closely with the team to grant additional gaming-related wishes in the future is an unbelievable honor, and I look forward to Miniclip becoming an official Make-A-Wish UK partner.

Rob Small has contributed to the development of the Wish 200 Week campaign in 2021 in response to a 400% rise in requests relating to gaming from 2017. Wish 200 Week, now in its third year, aims to fulfill more wishes than ever for kids who turn to gaming for comfort while receiving vital medical care.

The gaming community has granted over 300 wishes to critically ill children and their families since 2021

“Both gamers and non-gamers may contribute to granting the wishes of as many critically ill kids in the UK as we can, many of whom have had their childhoods stolen by their illnesses. We’re getting more requests for gaming-related items, which we know can have a significant and long-lasting effect on seriously ill kids and their families. Working with Miniclip as an official Make-A-Wish UK partner enables us to keep leveraging the strength of the gaming community, assisting us in realizing our goal of fulfilling the wishes of all eligible children.

Jason Suckley, Chief Executive, Make-A-Wish UK

The gaming community has contributed about £700,000 since Wish 200 Week was founded in 2021, giving over 300 wishes to very ill children and their families to help them make lifelong memories.
