Moba Legends: 5v5 is the official Indian version of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang

MOBA fans unite!

It has been more than three years since Mobile Legends: Bang Bang was banned in India. Popularly known as MLBB, this MOBA title has a huge audience in the Asian region. I’m glad to break the news that the game is making a comeback but with a new name, Moba Legends: 5v5.

It’s not new that the banned games generally return with a new name and a localized publisher in India. It has already happened with PUBG Mobile, Free Fire. And now, it’s time for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang to come back to India. Before the ban, the game had a decent-sized audience in India, and it still maintains a very good and engaged crowd in India. As a player of this game myself, I can say the crowd is very dedicated to this game.

What is new in Moba Legends: 5v5 compared to MLBB

On the surface level, it is the same game with a different name. However, the game is being published under a new name, Moba Legends: 5v5. The publisher’s name is Vizta Games, and this seems to be the first game under them.

Inside the game, it is just the same. It has all the ongoing events that are running on the global version. So literally there is no difference between Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Moba Legends: 5v5. One more thing to mention is that the game is very much localized, and it includes Hindi as a language.

Now talking about the account progress, it is safe to login into the Indian version with your existing account. You can seamlessly use the same account on both versions. I have tested it myself on my account. I logged into the Indian version with my account and started a match, asked the players which game they were playing and if they were on Moba Legends or Mobile Legends, and all of them said they were on MLBB.

That means, for now, there’s no differentiation of matchmaking. It looks like the game is pooling all the Indian players together from both versions. So there should not be any problem on the progress side. You can have the same account on both versions, how good is that?!

How to play the Indian version of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang

For the Indians, it is very simple. All you need to do is to head over to the app stores. The game is currently available only on Google Play. I reached out to MOONTON Games‘ spokesperson for an official comment but unfortunately, they refused to comment on it. This is understandable considering the previous ban. But I can confirm that for now, there’s no iOS version of Moba Legends: Bang Bang, but we’ll get to see it very soon.
