A new upcoming hero, Sora, has finally been released on the MLBB Advanced Server with the latest Patch Update. The release would imply he will be the 131st Hero in Mobile Legends. This new Fighter/ Assassin hero is very unique, as he can Ascend into different forms, granting him 9 unique abilities in total. Without further ado, let us check out all one should expect from the upcoming new hero, Sora, in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
Mobile Legends Sora: Hero Overview
The new upcoming hero, Sora, is a Fighter/Assassin role hero with a wide array of skill sets, bringing Versatility to the battlefield. We will be breaking down Sora’s skills as observed from the Advanced Server.
Abilities
Passive: Mystic Surge
Sora gains 1 stack of Cloudstep each time he damages an enemy hero or their summons, lasting 6s. At 5 stacks, he can ascend to Thunder or Torrent by using his Ultimate. After ascending, collecting 5 more stacks unlocks his True Art.
- Thunder: Converts extra HP into 10% Physical Attack, adopting an assassin style.
- Torrent: Converts each point of bonus Attack into 10 Max HP, adopting a tank style.
First Skill: Sundering Strikes
Sora strikes twice at enemies, dealing Physical Damage, then lunges forward, dealing Physical Damage based on his total HP. He can also dash after striking.
- On ascending into Thunder, this ability becomes Sundering Strike: Thunderflash – Sora strikes four times, dealing Physical Damage, then lunges forward, dealing extra Physical Damage. He can move freely during this skill
- On ascending into Torrent, this ability becomes Sundering Strike: Overwhelm – Sora strikes twice, dealing Physical Damage and slowing enemies by 40%. He then lunges forward, dealing extra Physical Damage and stunning enemies for 0.55 seconds.
Second Skill: Windstride
Sora leaps forward, dealing Physical Damage. If he hits an enemy hero or reaches max range, he slams the ground, dealing additional Physical Damage and slowing them by 40% for 0.55 seconds. Hitting a hero reduces the cooldown by 2 seconds.
- On ascending into Thunder, this ability becomes Windstrike: Thunder Rush – Sora leaps forward, dealing Physical Damage, then summons a thunderstorm that hits enemies, dealing Physical Damage and slowing them by 50% for 0.5s. Hitting a hero reduces the cooldown by 2 seconds.
- On ascending into Torrent, this ability becomes Windstrike: Skyfall – Sora leaps forward, dealing Physical Damage and knocking enemies back to the landing point. He then smashes the ground, dealing Physical Damage and knocking enemies airborne for 0.5s. Hitting a hero reduces the cooldown by 2s.
Third Skill – Shifting Skies
Swipe Left to ascend into Thunder for 10s. Sora gains a brief bonus Movement Speed and becomes untargetable, then deals 250(+80% Total Physical Attack) Physical Damage to nearby enemies. Swipe Right to ascend into Torrent for 10s, pulling in nearby enemies and dealing 250 (+8% Total HP) Physical Damage.
- On ascending into Thunder, this ability becomes Heaven’s Wrath – Sora leaps into the air and strikes a target area 15 times, dealing 50(+30% Total Physical Attack) Physical Damage with each hit. Sora can move freely during this skill.
- On ascending into Torrent, this ability becomes Stormbind – Sora leaps into the air and strikes a target area 10 times, dealing 50 (+2% Total HP) Physical Damage and slowing enemies by 10% for 1s (up to 80%) with each hit. Sora can move freely during this skill
Mobile Legends Sora: Skill Analysis and Hero Overview
Judging from his skills, Sora is a pretty strong Fighter with a versatile stray of combos granting sustain, CC, damage, and mobility. Besides having abilities with unbelievably low cooldown, he can easily trigger his Passive ability, greatly boosting his Teamfight efficiency. Using the above Skill info, let’s analyze the new hero Sora’s skills.
Sora’s Passive ability is literally the main showcase of the hero, as it allows him to freely switch between forms on hitting enemy heroes 5 times. It’s essential to note that this passive can’t be triggered when you hit creeps, minions, or jungle monsters.
Therefore, one can conclude that to seamlessly activate his Ascend abilities, one has to constantly engage enemy heroes. Analyzing his main skills, one would realize that Sora’s first skill is his main damage source, good for poking enemies, especially since the last hit from this skill has an increased hit range. This skill is even more powerful when he ascends.
As Sora’s Thunder form deals increased damage while the Torrent form deals damage based on his total HP to enemies, while adding some extra CC. The quick mobility and damage output from Sora’s second skill help give him the edge over fleeing or low-mobility enemy heroes. Moving into Sora’s ultimate ability, it is quite tricky as he has three different ultimates.
His base form ultimate allows him to ascend into a specific form depending on how he activates it. As Swiping Left on the Ultimate icon grants him an assassin-like form, while Swiping Right in the Ultimate icon grants him a Tanky-like form. So do best to use Sora’s Ascend form according to the situation you’re in.
How could Sora hold up against the current meta
On analyzing Sora’s abilities, one would note that he’s a very powerful fighter capable of dealing lots of burst damage within a short period. Even in his normal state, he can be quite annoying to deal with. However, on using his ultimate, he immediately becomes a very powerful foe to deal with on the battlefield.
Nonetheless, he’s a combo-dependent hero who relies too much on head-on brawls for unlocking his powerful forms. Therefore, he’d be seen oscillating between Jungle and Exp roles in this meta.
When will Sora release in the MLBB Original Server
As Sora’s hero concept is live and currently being tested in the advanced server. He’d be releasing in the next 3 months, which sets him for a December 2025 release.
