Need For Speed mobile: Leaked footage from Tencent’s open-world game has surfaced online

The gameplay looks truly amazing!

Things have taken a very interesting turn as very cool-looking footage has been leaked from the rumored Need For Speed mobile game and has now popped up online. Posted by Twitter user Shaun Weber, the footage is apparently some beta or Alpha version from China that has been kept under wraps till now and it shows the player driving around the world and completing a time trial mission.

The game looks better than other racing titles currently available for mobile devices

The on-screen controls include left and right, acceleration and brakes, nitro, and an emergency brake for those cool-looking drifts are something which seems to stand out in terms of comparison with other racing titles available on Mobile.

The game does seem to be set in an open world with different environments and looks really good as the player takes sharp turns and fits their cars into small bylanes barely big enough for their luxury sports car.

The rumors about a Need For Speed Mobile title first popped up around the start of 2022, when Tencent put out job openings for a project called Need For Speed Online Mobile. Apparently, TiMi Studios, Tencent’s subsidiary behind titles like Call of Duty Mobile and Pokemon Unite, was working alongside EA on this project.

Need For Speed mobile might offer an online experience to the players

The leaked footage looks quite promising in regards to an enjoyable racing game on mobile that isn’t just about short races like what we’ve seen so far. There’s even an online chat and what looks like other cars belonging to real players so the game could be an online experience with multiple players driving around on the same server.

A few other interesting pieces of information were provided by a Reddit user who revealed that the game has only three cars at present (the Lamborghini Aventador, McLaren F1, and the Gallardo), and the map that the game is set in is from Need For Speed Heat. The control feel is supposedly similar to NFS EDGE and includes some drift boost effects. There’s apparently no story and no police chases right now either.

All that being said though, this is all that we have so far related to this hot piece of matter. With studios like TiMi and Electronic Arts at the helm, Need For Speed mobile could do really well once it hits the global market, although it isn’t clear when that would happen.
