NetEase Games to globally shut down Rules of Survival this June 2022

The classic battle royale game is going offline!

NetEase Games’ popular Battle Royale game, Rules of Survival was one of the first few to make the BR scene popular on mobile. Now, this first 120-player Rules of Survival BR is to shut down its servers for good as the game is finally put to rest.

Rules of Survival game servers will go offline on June 27

An official tweet announced that on June 27, 2022 at 15:00 UTC (2 months from now), the game’s servers will go offline and all data will be deleted from the game. Now this isn’t a surprising move as the game’s player base had been dwindling for a while now ever since bigger and better games like PUBG Mobile and COD Mobile took over and NetEase started focusing more on other projects although there’s no official reason posted yet.

Earlier this year, NetEase did try to bring the game back into relevancy with its 2.0 update which overhauled its gameplay elements, visuals, audio, and other elements. However, it seems like that didn’t exactly do much for the game as it is now going dark.

Also, in case you happen to have some unused diamonds, then you can get a refund for those between June 28 to September 28. The game hadn’t been doing too well although it still is an iconic title in the history of mobile gaming. It was a hit back in the day when it came out but it really couldn’t stand the test of time and lacked quite a bit despite the recent overhaul. It is a sad moment to see the game that introduced many to the mobile battle royale scene come to an end.
