The blockbuster American drama series Game Of Thrones is going to get an open-world RPG adaptation, Netmarble confirms. Titled Game Of Thrones: Kingsroad, the game was initially announced back in November 2022 along with a teaser. At the ongoing G-STAR 2024 annual event, the game has been officially unveiled with a fantastic trailer, whose debut will be in 2025 on both Mobile and PC platforms.
Game Of Thrones: Kingsroad first look visuals are impressive
If you do not know, Game of Thrones is a popular fantasy TV series that follows the power struggles among noble families for control of the Iron Throne and threats from beyond the kingdom’s borders. Known for its complex characters, dramatic plots, and high production values, the series gained a global fanbase and critical acclaim and has won numerous awards.
From the visuals shared, we can see that the game blends familiar characters, locations, and music from the show with an original storyline. Fans of the series will find familiar settings like the North, Castle Black, and iconic characters like Jon Snow, as well as references to the Night’s Watch and the White Walkers, which is said to be carefully recreated with guidance from Warner Bros. (WB) and HBO.
As per the details available, the game is set after the events of Game of Thrones Season 4, although you might remember Kingsroad being an episode itself in the first season of the drama. The trailer doesn’t give a direct gameplay glimpse and has a mix of cinematic and in-game elements. The details look good, but looks like it is going to be PC-heavy.
For those who love Game of Thrones, Kingsroad will be available for checking out at the Netmarble booth during G-STAR 2024. With the release of Game Of Thrones: Kingsroad scheduled in 2025, you can look forward to a total of nine new game releases from Netmarble next year, including the highly anticipated The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin.
The official website is open now, and you keep an eye on the same for announcements. Before the official launch, we can get a couple of tests to try out for Game Of Thrones: Kingsroad on both mobile and PC, so stay tuned for updates.
