Originally launched way back in 2018, Onmyoji is yet another fantasy RPG that is making its way to mobile. Its spin-off was a former release named Onmyoji Arena, and a prequel is currently on its way. The upcoming release is named Onmyoji: The Card Game and is set for a soft launch in Singapore, Australia, Philippines, and Thailand by late 2020.
The upcoming release will watch players as they dive into Shinkiro, land, and home of the Yokai, and they will get to play a card game known as Hyakabun. As expected, due to the fact that it’s a spin-off, the upcoming card game will carry its art style from the initial RPG game. This game takes its inspiration from Japanese folklore.
The gameplay’s core centralizes on combining Shikigami and their exclusive cards. Each player’s deck will contain up to four of them, and each of them will have 8 cards that they can equip. Afterward, they will fight in turns, taking place in the combat zone. Furthermore, they will lead players to a fast-paced gameplay experience that will constantly change.
New PVP Ranked systems and PVE Story system
Onmyoji: The Card Game will come with a mixture of PVP and PVE playable matches. This will depend on the mode that suits your taste. The PVP will have a ranked feature system. Here you can be placed to go up toe to toe against other players whose abilities are similar to yours.
The PVE sections, on the other hand, will feature an anticipative story system. Here players will learn and get to know more about the lore of the world. Apart from that, players are also at the liberty of decorating their very own store. This would provide them with extra in-game earnings.
When will Onmyoji: The Card Game release?
As of now, the game is set to come out for the soft launch in late 2020 for Thailand, Singapore, Australia, and the Philippines. These are the only selected countries that will have access to the soft launch for now. There has been no official release date specified yet.
