OUTRANKERS has officially announced that it will be shutting down its services on February 27, 2026, bringing the short-lived title to an end. The action title from DELUXE GAMES was launched on November 6, 2025.
OUTRANKERS’ reason for shutting down is due to its inability to deliver the desired quality
If you haven’t heard of it, that’s probably because it was sadly released only in Japan. The anticipation for a global release mainly came from the fact that it also drew attention for having veteran Capcom developers like Yoshiki Okamoto, Noriyoshi Funamizu, and Ryo Nishitani involved, along with original music by Tetsuya Komuro.
OUTRANKERS positioned itself as a fast-paced, competitive action title built around 3v3 team battles. The game was set in a ruined city 200 years in the future, and matches revolved around collecting a resource called Elpis while fighting rival teams.
The gameplay felt similar to Pokémon Unite, but instead of two teams, three teams competed at once. The game also featured an auto mode. One of its biggest highlights was the character design, with each character having a distinct personality and customizable skills that allowed for different playstyles.
Despite the promising concept and well-known creators behind the project, OUTRANKERS, as we know, never received a global release and has now been shut down.
The developers stated that while the game was created with the goal of “redesigning competitive gaming,” as per the official translation, they felt the current service design made it difficult to deliver the level of quality and value players expect.
Sales of Paid Diamonds and Premium Passes ended on January 26, but players can still use their remaining Diamonds. The game will stay playable until its final shutdown in February. After the service ends on February 27, 2026, a refund form for unused Paid Diamonds will be available.
