Israel-based mobile gaming studio Playtika has announced that it is all set to acquire fellow mobile game studio SuperPlay for $700 million. The acquisition deal is expected to close in the Fourth Quarter of 2024.
The acquisition of SuperPlay is expected to offer Playtika a significant growth opportunity
While the deal will see Playtika buying SuperPlay for $700 million upfront, the total cost of acquisition might go up to $1.95 billion. An additional $1.25 billion may be paid if SuperPlay meets specific financial goals from 2025 to 2027. These extra payments will depend on revenue and profit performance and will come from Playtika’s ongoing operations.
SuperPlay, founded in 2019, has quickly grown thanks to its founders, who are experienced gaming industry veterans. The team soft-launched their first title, Dice Dreams, within six months, which was followed by another hit title Domino Dreams.
Playtika’s CEO, Robert Antokol, said this acquisition will strengthen the company’s position in the mobile gaming space and provide new growth opportunities. He further added:
“SuperPlay’s proven talent and success in navigating complex environments align seamlessly with our team. Together, we’re expanding our ability to deliver exceptional experiences to players worldwide.”

Playtika has been actively making moves in the market since last year. The Angry Birds maker Rovio Entertainment was offered a whopping $737.5 million (€683 million) last year in August by Playtika, but the Finnish developer signed a deal with SEGA Europe later that year for $775 million (€706 million).
With the deal going through in Q4 of 2024, we can expect to see the best of both companies delivering amazing mobile game experiences.
