The year 2019 has witnessed quite a few spectacular esports events take place. Tournaments like the PUBG Mobile India Series, PUBG Mobile Club Open Summer Split and PUBG Mobile India Tour 2019 (ongoing) have showcased the exceptional skills and tactics by players who have worked hard to play in the higher stages of tournaments like these. Teams from around the globe have registered for PMCO Fall Split 2019. It follows the same pattern of rules and regulations, matches and ranking as its predecessor, PMCO Summer Split.
Groups in PMCO Fall Split 2019
The teams which registered are divided into nine groups, based on their region:
- North America
- South America
- Europe
- Middle East
- India
- China
- South-East Asia
- Korea
- Japan
- Wildcard Region
Matches are conducted weekly amongst the teams of a group. Teams advance from the initial group rounds to the next rounds, leading to the regional semifinals, and then the regional finals held offline.
As expected, the gameplay changes radically from the initial stages to the final rounds. Only the teams that perform consistently and play tactically make it to the top!
Selection process
Based on the overall standings at the end of the regional final, the winner team of each regional final secures a place in the Global Final. The teams that end up in the second and third position in the regional finals are selected for the Global Finals Prelims. The top teams from the Global Final Prelims make their way into the Final, making it a total of 16 teams in the final.
Highlights from the PMCO Spring Split 2019 Indian Regional Finals
Earlier this year, the India Regional Finals of the PUBG Mobile Club Open Spring Split 2019 took place at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex, New Delhi.
“Team SouL”, comprising of well-known players Mortal, Owais, Ronak and Viper, was crowned the champions of the Indian regional finals and went on to the finals in Berlin, while “Team IND” and “Indian Tigers” ended up in second and third place in the regional final respectively.
Highlights from the PMCO Spring Split 2019 Global Finals
The PMCO Summer Split Global Finals were dominated by teams from China and South-East Asia. TOP Esports, a team from China, ended up winning the championship, while X-Quest and Elite Esports, also hailing from China, secured the second and third position respectively.
Expectations
Currently, the first rounds of the PMCO Fall Split 2019 are over. Teams which are potential qualifiers have received emails about being the potential qualifiers for the next round for the Global Finals in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from November 29 to December 1. And probably, they are practising very hard on making their strategies and gameplay batter. As the PMCO Fall Split continues, it will be interesting to see how well teams from India perform this time, with the level of gameplay constantly on the rise.
