Pokemon Go Fest live events have contributed over $300m to local city economies in 2022

According to research firm Statista’s data, Niantic’s three major Pokemon GO Fest 2022 live events in Berlin, Seattle, and Sapporo contributed $309 million to the local economies of the host cities in 2022, including overall spending and an increase in tax income that went along with it.

The total impact was comparable to Super Bowl LVI in Los Angeles County ($234-477m) and, on an individual basis, to the hosting of the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 tournament across nine host cities in the UK ($60m), demonstrating the growing demand for gaming community events in the real world.
