Pokémon GO Fest 2022 is announced featuring a bonus finale event

Not just a global event but also a in-person celebration!

It is undeniable that Pokémon Go has been one of the most played games even during a global pandemic. Niantic made necessary changes in their game to practice safety with increased catch radius and bonuses that helped players stay safe even while going out to play during the pandemic. But, as the world comes back to being normal, the game is also getting back into pre-covid settings, and with that, the long-due Pokémon Go Fest 2022 is back.

The annual Pokémon Go event saw thousands of trainers participating in unique raids, special research tasks, and other opportunities to catch some of the more rare Pokemon within the mobile title.

Pokémon Go Fest 2022: Event dates and locations

Pokémon Go has a lineup of events prepared for this year

Pokémon Go also has a lot of other events lined up for this year to keep fans hooked on the game. One of the first events is All-Hands Rocket Retreat which begins on April 3  and ends on April 7,  it will be followed by Spring into Spring which will start on April 12  and end on April 18.

The Sustainability Week will begin on April 20 and run through April 25, simultaneously with Pokémon Go Community Day on April 23, which will then be followed by the continued Alola Season.

Ultra Unlocks

Unlike past years, this year’s Ultra Unlock will not be a single event. Instead, Trainers will have certain Global Challenges to complete during each Pokémon GO Fest event—such as defeating a certain number of Team GO Rocket members—which, if completed, will unlock an upgraded version of a later event during the Season of GO!

Because there are multiple Pokémon GO Fest celebrations happening this year, Trainers all over the world will have multiple chances to trigger specific Ultra Unlock bonuses. The initial two-day global event on Saturday, June 4, 2022, and Sunday, June 5, 2022 will have its own hourly Global Challenges on Saturday to trigger the first Ultra Unlock bonus, and the in-person Pokémon GO Fest events that follow will also have their own unique Global Challenges tied to Ultra Unlocks for events later in the Season.

Even if you can’t make it to the events in Berlin, Seattle, or Sapporo, you’ll still be able to play along wherever you are and help make progress toward those Ultra Unlock bonuses! Trainers will be able to earn Ultra Unlock bonuses by completing Global Challenges during the following events.

  • Global Pokémon GO Fest: If Trainers complete at least 20 Global Challenges, they’ll earn Ultra Unlock bonuses for Adventure Week.
  • Pokémon GO Fest Berlin: If Trainers complete this event’s Global Challenge, they’ll earn Ultra Unlock bonuses for the anniversary event.
  • Pokémon GO Fest Seattle: If Trainers complete this event’s Global Challenge, they’ll earn Ultra Unlock bonuses for a to-be-revealed event.
  • Pokémon GO Fest Sapporo: If Trainers complete this event’s Global Challenge, they’ll earn Ultra Unlock bonuses for a to-be-revealed event.

Personalized Special Research

This year, ticket-holding Trainers will get to personalize their Pokémon GO Fest experience with Special Research. Catch, explore, or battle – choose your focus and difficulty level, and certain Special Research tasks will change accordingly! Complete Special Research to encounter the Mythical Pokémon Shaymin in its Land Forme! Other rewards include a Shaymin-inspired avatar item and an event-exclusive pose.
