- You can enjoy the game in the Netherlands and Belgium until November 30, 2025.
- Pokémon UNITE will not be available for both mobile platforms and Nintendo Switch.
- In-game items won't be available for purchase from October 31, 2024.
Pokémon UNITE, the popular Pokémon MOBA has announced that it will end its services in Belgium and the Netherlands for both Mobile and Switch on November 30, 2025. You won’t be able to register or renew your UNITE club membership, or purchase Aeos Gems starting October 31, 2024.
Players are aghast at this decision from the Pokémon UNITE devs
The Pokémon Company announced the discontinuation of their game via a Notice of Termination on their official website. After November 30, 2025, the game will not be available for download on mobile devices or Nintendo Switch.
Due to the shutdown, players will now have to ensure to utilize all of their in-app purchases and in-game currencies including Aeos Gems before November 30, 2025. Additionally, players can’t purchase any new subscriptions starting from the end of next month ieOctober 31, 2024. You can still contact the official in-game Support team for any issues until that date.
It’s genuinely disappointing when you learn the main reason behind this sudden shutdown. Both Belgium and the Netherlands have strict gambling laws, and Pokémon UNITE was implementing more and more luck-based gacha lootboxes that don’t align with the regulations in those countries.
Fans have voiced their disappointment that Pokémon UNITE seems to prioritize gambling over its player bases. Although Pokémon UNITE is shutting down in those two countries, the devs don’t have similar plans for the game’s global version.
