In a horrific incident earlier this week in Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, Arun Sharma, a young man aged 20 years murdered a 6-year-old child in an act of revenge against his grandfather Narsingh Sharma for stopping him from playing PUBG (BGMI), reported News18.
The convict was reportedly addicted to the PUBG Mobile (BGMI) and killed the 6-year-old in revenge on his grandfather
The convict, Arun Sharma was reportedly addicted to the popular battle royale game, PUBG Mobile or BGMI in India. His grandfather Narsingh Sharma rebuked him for his addiction and stopped him from playing the game anymore which upset Arun.
The victim 6-year-old, Sanskar Yadav used to come to Narsingh Sharma to attend private tuitions, and when he didn’t return home Wednesday night, the family contacted the police and a search was launched. On Thursday, several of Sanskar’s books and notebooks were found scattered near Narsingh’s house.
This also included a ransom letter demanding Rs. 5 lakh for the safe return of Sanskar back to his family. An inspection was conducted to find a match for the handwriting of the ransom letter. According to Deoria SP, Sankalp Sharma, the handwriting matched that of Arun Sharma, who was taken into custody.
Arun Sharma soon broke down during interrogation and admitted his involvement in the murder of Sanskar Yadav. According to him, he kidnapped Sanskar when he came for tuition and sealed his mouth with adhesive to cut off his cries for help.
Arun then strangulated the young boy and dumped his body near Narsingh’s house in an attempt to incriminate the old man. Following the admission, Arun has been arrested and detained under charges of murder, kidnapping, and disappearance of evidence. Police have also sent his cell phone for a forensic test.

It is truly sad to see the lengths a young man is ready to go to take revenge on his grandfather. This was just because he was stopped from playing a game that the accused was addicted to. This speaks volumes about the cons of mobile and social media addiction and so on. It is also notable to mention that last month a teenager shot his mother died when she scolded the boy for playing the game.
