PUBG Mobile Pro League (PMPL) South Asia Season 3: Everything you need to know

After successfully completing the PMCO South Asia, PUBG Mobile has announced PMPL South Asia Season 3. It is scheduled to start on March 23, 2021, with the top 11 teams from PUBG Mobile Club Open (PMCO). The tournament will also have the top 8 invited teams from PMPL South Asia 2020 and Zeus Esports from PMGC Season Zero. The tournament will be played in two stages i.e. the league stage and the grand finals and it’s expected to be concluded by April 18, 2021.

A total of 20 teams will be participating in PUBG Mobile Pro League Season 3 South Asia. Out of which, top 11 teams will be from PMCO Finals and the top 8 teams are invited from PMPL Season 2. Zeus esports is also invited as they finished third in PUBG Mobile Global Championship Season Zero.

PMPL South Asia Season 3 Format

League Stage

The league stage of PUBG Mobile Pro League (PMPL) South Asia Season 3 will witness 20 teams battle against each other for 3 weeks. For the first three weeks, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from March 23 will be league play, and Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays will be considered as Super Weekend. After every week, the top 16 teams after league play will proceed to the subsequent super weekend matches. This is the most crucial aspect as the points earned in the super weekend matches will only be considered for the qualification to the PMPL Finals.

Finals

After the completion of super weekend matches, the top 16 teams from the leaderboard will move to PMPL South Asia Finals. It is scheduled to take place between April 15 to 18, 2021. The top 9 teams will also get the chance to battle in the Regional Finals from May 13 to 16, 2021.

Point System in PMPL SA Season 3

In PMPL Season 3 South Asia, each kill will correspond to 1 point. After every game, the points will be divided such as the team finishing 1st will get 15 points. The team in the 2nd position will get 12 points. The team in 3rd position will get 10 points. Here’s the complete detail:

In case of a tie between 2 teams in any stage of the tournament, a tie-breaker will be determined in order of-

  • Total times they won the first placement or chicken dinner across all tournament games.
  • Total placement points
  • Placement points in the most recent match
  • Total Kills

All the rules suggest that every match and map in PMPL Season 3 South Asia is crucial to be on top of the leaderboard.
