Indian PUBG Mobile fans get their special Diwali gift!

PUBG MOBILE, one of the world’s most popular battle royale titles, was banned by the Indian Government on September 2, 2020, as a measure for protecting the national integrity, sovereignty, and security along with the user information of Indian players. Since then, the PUBG Corporation has taken several steps for the removal of the ban in one of PUBG MOBILE’s biggest markets. Finally, PUBG MOBILE is set to return to the country under a new name ‘PUBG Mobile India‘, which has been specially designed and created for the Indian players, according to a Tech Crunch report.

PUBG Mobile’s return to India

PUBG Corporation has announced about this special version of the game for the Indian market, but the release date is still undisclosed. Previously, PUBG Corp. broke its partnership with the Chinese tech giant Tencent, taking the first step to un-ban PUBG Mobile in India.

Recently, the company also penned down a global deal with Microsoft to move all user data of PUBG Mobile to Azure, Microsoft’s cloud platform. This was a sincere step in securing the data of Indian players, which was a major concern of the Govt. while banning these apps.

Privacy and security of Indian player data being a top priority for PUBG Corporation, the company will conduct regular audits and verifications on the storage systems holding Indian users’ personally identifiable information to reinforce security and ensure that their data is safely managed.
