PUBG New State optional update has removed Vulkan API on all Poco phones

Vulkan API has been temporarily removed on Poco phones and other devices

PUBG New State, the futuristic battle royale title from Krafton, is finally out. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been smooth sailing for Krafton. The game was released on November 11 as per the plan but it had several issues on the launch day. Simply put, the game was filled with tons of bugs. This made users review-bomb the game on Play Store. But the developers of New State have been working to fix these issues. There have been several optional updates for Android phones to fix some of these issues in PUBG New State, and one such update has removed Vulkan API on all Poco phones.

PUBG New State optional update: Patch notes

  1. The Vulkan graphics API has been temporarily disabled on POCO series devices as the developers look into an issue where setting the graphics API to Vulkan would cause the game to crash or freeze.
  2. The search function in the Invite to Team screen has been temporarily disabled.

Bug Fixes

  1. Fixed an issue where the Closest Server function would sometimes fail to recommend a server after a player created an account. The function will now recommend the most optimized server to players based on ping.
  2. Fixed an issue in Spectate Mode where the spectating screen would be zoomed in if a player was killed while in ADS mode.
  3. Fixed an issue where the game would not run on some Realme series devices.
  4. Fixed issues that would cause crashes when playing the game on certain devices.

Though the game had a messy launch day things are slowly getting back to normal. The New State team has fixed most of these issues. But all these updates are only for Android phones. These issues have existed in iOS devices as well. But as of now, there hasn’t been any news on the iOS optional update. Many iOS users have complained about how poorly the game is optimized. But right now developers have fixed these issues for Android. We can expect them to do the same for iOS devices very soon.
