Psyonix team has announced Rocket League Sideswipe, a Rocket League spin-off for mobile devices. Set to launch later this year, Psyonix aims to provide similar core, competitive gameplay for mobile devices. Rumored to make their arrival in mobile phones from some time back, Rocket League is finally coming in Android and iOS where players will compete from a new perspective on the field in fast-paced arcade 1v1 or 2v2 online matches.
Dive into the high-octane arcade-style soccer gameplay in mobile
Rocket League Sideswipe will feature mobile controls which is easy to pick up, be it you’re a master of Rocket League or if you’re getting new to the game. It involves advanced mechanics for players who want to climb in competitive ranks. You could additionally expect an Online Ranking System for online play. In the garage, we can carry out robust car-customization which is similar to the Rocket League.
The prime contrast with the original Rocket League version is that it will be played in a 2D perspective, with the players’ cars and the ball being seen from the side. The game will also support fewer players, so only 1-versus-1 and 2-versus-2 matches are supported. Matches will be shorter, too, lasting just two minutes.
Psyonix aims to worldwide launch later this year
The team from Psyonix aims to carry out the worldwide launch this year. Starting today, players from Australia and New Zealand will be able to join a limited-time Regional Alpha test on Android via the Google Play Store. The game will be free on Android and iOS.
