RRQ Akira has been crowned as the champion of Mobile Legends MPL- BR Season 4, making it their third MPL title in a row. The team defeated Bigetron Sons in the Grand Finals with a scoreline of 4-0. The team maintained an unbeaten record throughout the tournament.
The tournament was organized by MOONTON Games and sponsored by TikTok and Secret Lab. RRQ Akira will be taking $12,600 USD home as the champions of the tournament.
MPL-BR Season 4: RRQ Akira and their Journey through the grand finals
RRQ Akira showed extraordinary performance in the last three MPLs. Coming to this season, the team was undoubtedly the favorite to take the title. As per expectations, the team dominated this season as well as they did not lose a single match throughout the whole tournament.
RRQ Akira topped the leaderboard of the Regular Season by winning all seven matches that they played against the other teams. More notably, the team not only won all the matches, they also won each and every map in this stage.
Coming to the playoffs, RRQ Akira got a direct entry into the Upper Bracket Semi-Finals. The team beat Malvinas Gaming in the Upper Bracket Semi-Finals with a scoreline of 3-0. In the Upper Bracket Finals, they beat Bigetron Sons with a score of 3-1 and sent them to the Lower Brackets.
Bigetron Sons also had an impressive run in the regular season as they came second in the leaderboard with a 3 pts gap from the table leaders. The team was sent to the Lower Brackets by RRQ Akira, however, they beat DreamMax with a scoreline of 3-1 in the Lower Brackets Finals and qualified for the Grand Finals.
The Grand Finals again saw a dominating performance from the side of RRQ Akira as they clean-swept and won all four matches in a row to close out the Best of 7 (Bo7) series. Bigetron Sons will be taking $8,100 USD home as the runners-up of the tournament.
